Chris Holtmann (ex-tOSU Bball coach, HC at DePaul)

Sounds like it’s a done deal. The Demons were abysmal this year (3-29) so they may not have much financial leverage in the structuring.

DePaul has been a pretty dreadful program for awhile, their best Big East finish in the last 15 years was 7th back in 2014-2015

If I were him, I would have sought a position that would allow me to take three or four days off a week and gain wide exposure to emerging trends in college basketball. Perhaps this means a media position? He could easily afford to work without a salary and would get exposure, while he heals from the stress and develops a plan for his next program.

He’s easily the worst BB or football coach in the last 20 years.

Glad he’s gone and nobody will remember his forgettable tenure at tOSU. He made Buckeye basketball boring and irrelevant on national scene. So long
20 years is arbitrary. Since Thad was hired in 2004. And football had Tressel, Fickell, Meyer, and Day. So he was worse than Fickell's interim year as well?

Fickell was never a real hire. He was interim.
You could go back further. Did Randy Ayers get lucky with JJ? He stunk after that. But he still went to Elite 8 with JJ

There has been zero excitement over OSU post-Covid. Crappy recruiting, crappy results, non-existent tourney runs. Losing to Ned Flanders alma mater as a 2 seed? Pathetic. Won’t miss him at all. Fitting he is going to a dead-end job like DePaul
