Older players? Pretty sure once Diebs started playing the likes of Middleton & Royal the team found a lot of juice. Also, not a fan of him crediting himself for the NIT bid this year when his replacement is who got them there.

Nice guy but way out of his element in today’s game. Maybe back to DIII Christian school Taylor U is right for him.
I’m sure he’ll do no worse than Depaul’s previous years but I won’t expect to hear much from his name in the future.

Yeah, at the time he was onboarded at OSU, we thought we were getting the next big-name. Just didn’t pan out. He will do average-to-well in the Big East, but probably no tournament championships.

Good luck to Holtmann. Good guy. Average coach. Funny looking at this thread over the years - glad everyone on the board (eventually) came to the same conclusion.

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
Ohio State’s release agreement with Chris Holtmann stipulated that it would have to pay its former coach nearly $15 million over the next four years, but his contract with DePaul will reduce that obligation to under $8.5 million.
