Chris Holtmann (ex-tOSU Bball coach, HC at DePaul)

I have to disagree. If you watched Williams and saw effort then we were watching different games. Amir Willliams defined "lack of effort".

I watched every game this year. As painful as that was to watch, lack of effort was front and center. It's awfully tough to watch a team that does not care. Loving, Lyle, Williams...all were the definition of lack of effort. Tons of potential but no desire.

If a coach does not get results from that potential, yes, I blame them. I've been a coach for kids that were really good but difficult to motivate. If those kids didn't resonate with me, then I'd agree that I should be fired. Bring in someone else, not every kid is going to relate to me.

I love Thad and always will. The guy raised us to a new level when he came in. But he had to go given the circumstances and as much as I hate it, we needed to move on.

Holtmann is a darn good coach and I think this was a good hire. Not the best hire and GS messed this up without a doubt. But I do think Holtmann can be a very good coach here and you better bet your ass I'm going to give him my full support.

I listened to a iTunes podcast and one of the writers on Land Grant said that he noticed that Greg Paulus was followed by Holtmann and thought that either Paulus or Jent might be retained by CH. I do not think that CJ will be retained but I guess Paulus is a possibility.
What evidence is there that Paulus was qualified for his job as an assistant coach?

Both of Paulus' parents had a connection to Ohio State, he was born in Medina, he was considering coming here out of New York and possibly playing football and basketball, he learned under Coach K at Duke, and his bio describes him as a gritty floor leader while at Duke. I had no problem with him getting a shot as an assistant, but yeah, nothing much of note in his time here.
