I have to disagree. If you watched Williams and saw effort then we were watching different games. Amir Willliams defined "lack of effort".
I watched every game this year. As painful as that was to watch, lack of effort was front and center. It's awfully tough to watch a team that does not care. Loving, Lyle, Williams...all were the definition of lack of effort. Tons of potential but no desire.
If a coach does not get results from that potential, yes, I blame them. I've been a coach for kids that were really good but difficult to motivate. If those kids didn't resonate with me, then I'd agree that I should be fired. Bring in someone else, not every kid is going to relate to me.
I love Thad and always will. The guy raised us to a new level when he came in. But he had to go given the circumstances and as much as I hate it, we needed to move on.
Holtmann is a darn good coach and I think this was a good hire. Not the best hire and GS messed this up without a doubt. But I do think Holtmann can be a very good coach here and you better bet your ass I'm going to give him my full support.
