absolutely no one comes even remotely close to that string of consecutive hires. we'll see what day is truly made of in a couple seasons when the team more or less becomes fully his. ho1tmann is kind of there already, though i think next season will be 100% his since andre and probably kaleb will be gone. i guess you could say that ahrens is somewhat of a holdover, but he decommitted/recommitted and has had only ho1tmann as his coach.

that being said, both day and ho1tmann are beneficiaries of tressel and matta. the prior coaches set the table. we'd never be where we are without them.

Oh, man, this is a great story. They were talking about officiating and Holtmann said the officials want to be officiating in March and how they go through a rigorous review process. He recounted about a game where he was arguing with an official about a call he'd made, exclaiming to him, "I'm trying to get to the tournament!" The official responded, "So am I!" Chris answered, "Good luck with that."

He got T'd up.
