Exactly what I thought. This "hawk" tackle was how I was taught to tackle back in the late 80's. Eyeballs on his belt buckle, shoulder in to his hip, drive your feet and twist.
I was taught similar in the late 90's except you were additionally taught to wrap the legs and lift to take away their power usually ended up with your shoulder in their stomach on the ground unless the guy was way bigger then you. That usually meant getting run over as you tried to take away their power especially if you tried to do it without momentum.
