Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
Justin Fields had arguably the best performance of his young career, but the Chicago Bears came up short in a 29-27 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It did not help that the Bears were penalized 12 times for 115 yards but Fields nearly led a comeback on the final drive of the game. Fields said he was calm and focused in the situation.
A missed field goal as time expired gave the Steelers the win as the Bears charged back. The Bears rookie said he wanted to be the guy that shows up in big moments and had to be each game. He spoke with the media after the game discussing the Bears coming up just short.
"My mindset was just like, 'It's time, we're here,'" Fields said. "You can either be the guy who always gets put in that position and doesn't show up, or you can be that guy who shows up in the big moments. That was my mindset, and I was just calm and just focused on showing up."
Just sayin': When Fields threw that TD pass to take a 27-26 lead with 1:46 remaining in the game you just knew with that much time on the clock Roethlisberger was going to get the Steelers in FG position to win the game.
