Anybody else hearing that future ND-Navy games will be known as the "Booger Bowl"?

The ND board is talking about CW coaching most of the game with snot on his nose and not wiping it off.

It is one thing to be fat.

It is another to be a fat loser.

But it is an entirely new dimension to be a fat loser with a booger on your face.

There are headlines on ESPN insider (thus I can't read the article) that the loss Saturday was Weis' last straw...dunno if it's true or not, but it would be really something if his internship ended this way.

I have felt badly for Charlie Weis in the past, but for that amount of money and for the kids that have gone to ND he should be winning and winning now.

I like Notre Dame's running backs more than their QB's. Also - that loud thud you just heard wasn't something outside - it was Golden Tate, dropping another pass.

I'm all over this:

1. Almost beat USC in 2005
2. Almost beat USC in 2009
3. Stayed within 14 despite giving up Andy Dufrene crawl to freedom statistics in yards allowed in Fiesta Bowl 2005
4. Almost beat Michigan State in 2005
5. Stayed within 4 TDs of LSU in the 2006 Sugar Bowl

I guess being the 3rd most efficient QB in College football this year means nothing. I would put Case Keenum and Kellen Moore ahead of Clausen because they've both put up as good or better stats, and they win. The biggest problem Jimmy's faced this year has been his defense giving up too many points every game. The worst game I'd say he's had has been Navy where the offense never really got started, they crippled themselves in the red zone. Not saying Jimmy is the best this year, but I think he's in the top 5 or at least top 10.

As far as Tate, he's really stepped up. He's #3 on total yards at this point, and he's tied for 2nd with most TDs. He's been a game changer, he was finding ways to continue to produce when Floyd was out, he couldn't handle the double teams last year when that happened. Tate doesn't drop much, he's been pretty clutch.

As far as our Running Backs...the running game hasn't exactly been our strong suit in any season since Bob Davies left. This year has been slightly better than previous years, but Armando Allen has been off and on injured. Hughes is a power back, but he's been kind of middle of the road. Theo Riddick looks like he could be a good, shifty back, but he's technically still #3 when Armando is healthy and Hughes isn't winded. The team is pretty middle of the road rushing this year, ranked in the 70s among all teams. Armando is a good runner when he's healthy, but he's been on the sideline more this year than in the huddle, not better than the other skilled positions.

Not sure which team you're watching, but you've pretty much got it all backwards.

My guess is that FatBoy is now looking for a way to escape the sinking ship. He has to know he's finished without a BCS bowl game appearance.

It wouldn't shock me at all to hear that he's going to back to the NFL before Ntre Ame gets a chance to fire his fatass.

I have reason to believe that Weis' contract provisions made it far less expensive to fire him for poor results beginning this year. As I understand it, Weis entered this year knowing that this would be his last year if he did not end the year having achieved certain measurables (I think a BCS bowl and top 25 ranking) and without any further incidents with him famous ego. It is no secret that alumni, University financial backers, former players, faculty, and administrators despise him, especially when Tom Reynolds puts up that hilarious billboard across from his office.

I think he is now gone.

Clausen was very effective against Navy this past week. OK, he got caught for the last safety, but he had hit almost every pass at one point and he picked Navy apart well. I would support what ulukinatme said. He really moved them late in the game.
