Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

It's a sad development in modern advertising, Tlangs, that does not go unnoticed. Product placement and all these attempts to make commercial messages unobstrusive. Well, our Notre Dame fan visitors didn't get fooled by any of it. You're not sneaking that "Charlie's fat" thing in on them.

They know he's not fat.

He's horizontally challenged and is working hard to move forward toward his third national championship in a row.

No more Mr. Nice Guy.

This year, the service academies get it.

This year, Charlie will unleash his schematic advantage.

This year, Notre Dame is going to keep these games close, well into the third quarter.

Sure, Charlie's fat. Charlie admits that he's fat. The thing that all of the Notre Dame haters refuse to acknowledge is that Charlie could be thin tomorrow if he adopted the diet and lifestyle of a gangster-thug-hoodlum. Instead, Charlie chooses to maintain a healthy All-American lifestyle of cheese fries and Lazy-Boy recliners.

Charlie must be feeling his oats.

Weis says U-M will have excuses for game

Wednesday, May 7, 2008
The Detroit News

Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis had some fighting (Irish?) words for Michigan during a session with fans prior to the Blue-Gold spring game April 19.

Weis, captured on video, which was posted on YouTube, said the Irish must make a "statement" during its season opener against San Diego State on Sept. 6. He then talked about the Wolverines, Notre Dame's opponent on Sept. 13 in Sound Bend, Ind.

"I've always been one never to make excuses," Weis told the crowd [It's Ty's Fault]. "(I feel) you back your words by your performance on the field. I think that's the message our team is going to follow on September 6 with San Diego State. I think the first opportunity we'll have to make a statement is that day.

"Then we'll listen to Michigan have all their excuses as they come running in, saying how they have a new coaching staff (under Rich Rodriguez) and those changes. To hell with Michigan."

At that point, the Notre Dame faithful cheered.
Michigan has beaten Notre Dame the last two years.

Notre Dame coach: 'To hell with Michigan'

A video clip shows Charlie Weis has taken a shot at Michigan in a speech sometime around the Blue and Gold scrimmage last month.

In a video posted by a fan at youtube.com and linked at Notre Dame Football, Basketball, & Recruiting - UHND.com about the spring game, Weis made a speech to fans and claimed the Wolverines would make excuses about their new coaching regime under Rich Rodriguez.

"I always been one to never make excuses and not go about airing it," Weis said. "We’re going to start on September 6 with San Diego State. I think that the first opportunity we’re really gonna have to make a statement is that day.

"And then we’ll listen to Michigan have all their excuses as they come running in and saying how they have a new coaching staff and there’s changes. To hell with Michigan!"

Notre Dame plays Michigan in its second game, Sept. 13 at South Bend.

Weis is 1-2 vs. Michigan in his three seasons at Notre Dame. He has lost the past two games, 47-21 and 38-0. He also went 3-9 last season, one of the worst seasons in Irish history.

A year ago, Weis was being compared to some of Notre Dame coaching greats after becoming the first Irish coach to win 19 games in his first two seasons. This past year he nearly matched Bob Davie's school record of 16 losses in his first three seasons. Weis' three-year record is 22-15. That's a half-game better than his predecessor, Tyrone Willingham (21-15), who was fired after three seasons.

The critics have been all over Weis. Rather than fight back, Weis plans to answer them with better play on the field this fall.

Just when you think he can't be any more arrogant.....why has Notre Dame sucked the last several years in his opinion?

Why do Notre Dame faithful support this joke of a coach? Can't wait for another .500 or so season.

As far as excuses go, what was his comment about thugs then? He could win with thugs too? That wasn't an excuse? All that excessive bloating is because of the hot air in his body. What a deuche.

I really, really hope ND doesn't run him out of town after a few more crummy years. The opportunity to watch the Irish wallow in mediocrity under his command is too great to miss.

I honestly don't think Chuck has any concept of how big a hypocrite he is. No excuses? Why get a lap band performed? "My weight was holding me back professionally." Excuse. "I could win if we recruited thugs." Excuse. "I'm giving up playcalling to focus on coaching the whole team." Excuse. He has an excuse for everything that doesn't go his way, and that excuse is never "I fucked up" or "I'm no good at this." He's a model American, in many ways, but that's another conversation.

The thought just hit me: could the fact of the Patriots cheating for all of those years Chuck coached there violate some sort of ethics clause in Cheesburger's contract in the same way that O'Leary's resume' fib did? I'd think that the Irish would consider it to mitigate the - what - 10 year abortion of a contract they agreed to?
