Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

Here's a bump for you, Oh8ch.

Fiu has some ideas for ND, since they'll still be paying the Cholly.

CFN

Notre Dame still owes Weis around $18 million, and while there will end up being some sort of negotiation to bring that figure down a bit, it?s still going to cost the school a big chunk of change to get rid of the contract. If you have to pay him anyway, why officially fire him? I?m not saying he stays on as head coach, I?m saying he is a Notre Dame employee and is used in some other capacity to earn his keep. Chuck, you want all that money? Fine. Those dirty towels from the men?s swim team aren?t going to launder themselves. When you?re done with that, Gladys in the cafeteria is out sick this week, her lumbago is acting up, and we need someone to stir the chili bucket. And before you go, get Urban on the phone and see if he?s a 42 long or a 42 regular. Chop-chop, spit-spot.

Cont'd ...

Notre Dame Fighting Irish unlikely to accept bowl invitation - ESPN

.
Notre Dame, which finished 6-6, would be slotted into a bowl only after all of the bowl-eligible teams with seven victories have set their destinations, according to the report. That would likely leave two choices: The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit on Dec. 26, or the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 6.

Weis let the school know Tuesday that he plans to attend the Friday team banquet. He has not spoken to the entire team since last weekend, after the Irish were beaten 45-38 at Stanford. The banquet, usually open to the public, will be private, with only players, coaches, staff and family in attendance. The school did the same thing when Tyrone Willingham was fired five years ago.
.

Why isn't this a surprise? :slappy:

Charlie on Monday, Mangini today. The coaching fraternity just dropped about 700 pounds on fab three day super diet!

I assume you meant Mangino.

I think 700 pounds might be an underestimate. That Mangino really looks like he is "one small mint" away from exploding.

If I were an NBC executive, I would be contacting these 2 and see if they would be interested in the next season of Biggest Loser team edition. They would make a helluva team. NBC could promo the hell out of it and still have a tie in to ND as well.

Since they would probably decline and pretending I am still an NBC executive, I would then take the idea to SNL. The skit could be worth Weis' weight in gold!
