BB73;1596880; said:The same percentage is true, but the number is only 58.3%. And you can throw Bob Davie into the equation.
35-25 .583 Bob Davie
21-15 .583 Ty Willingham (but it's still all his fault)
35-25 .583 Charlie Weis
So they've been a 7-5 team since 1997, or for 13 seasons since Dr. Lou.
And if Charlie goes 1-1 against UConn and Stanford, and gets fired before the bowl game, he will end up at 58.1%, with the worst record of the last 3 coaches.

Wonder if he's going back on his comments earlier in the year that he wasn't going anywhere. Urban originally listed ND as his dream job. He worked as an assistant under Holtz and possibly Davies before making a name for himself.
There have been some fans that don't want Urban to come to South Bend, but at this point I don't see the university hiring anyone that doesn't have a proven head coaching career, nor do I see them taking an Assistant Coordinator from within the program. John Tenuta would have the most experience among the assistants, but with the performance of the defense this year I doubt they'd even consider him. If ND thought Urban would take the position, I would imagine the university would pursue him over any other applicants this year. It seems it would take sheer luck for Weis to win out the rest of the season and still not get bought out at this point. The only other scenario I would see is if the potential applicants to replace him were lackluster, they may just keep Weis on the payroll for continuity.
