Just curious.. do you think he'd take the job if it were open? I'm assuming the answer is probably yes, considering your post.

Like I said, I love Tress. Just a hypothetical.

Right now? No chance in hell, but what happens when he doesn't have a super football player like Tim Tebow? There's something to be said for the expectations he's built at UF. And that can turn on you in a big way, and there's a bit of reality of the Florida schools, one is usually hot, the other two are usually "decent." He's going to have years where he's decent, possibly even some where he's bad and they are now at the point where they are expecting to play for the national title once every couple years. Tough to keep up with that.

Either way, JT isn't going anywhere, and I don't think Meyer is either.

And FWIW, all those coaches tend to have a school written in as an opt out. It's a smart play on their part, it means as soon as there's coaching issues at the school they have an opt out for, they will get a substantial increase in pay to overlook the fact that there's an opening.

Only way Charlie gets into the NFL is if the Buffalo Bills change their name to the Buffalo Wings. He'd be a perfect fit.

Fit isn't the right word.. he doesn't fit into much..

Actually, to be honest here, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a coordinator position in the NFL, but he's just not a head coach. His motivation of students is evident on the field, how would he even begin to handle athletes that make millions of dollars? Somehow his arrogance and the rings that are stuck onto his fat fingers will get some head coach to grab him, probably the Browns. They tend to pick up every player I hate, why not grab the coach too.

Agreed 100%. He "might" be decent in the booth as an offensive guru. I'd have to wait and see how he does without the spy cameras and lock down defense he enjoyed in NE but he is not HC material because he lacks leadership, the ability to motivate and he has no personal accountability.

It's just not in his personality to accept blame and deflect praise the way a leader should.

I wouldn't be surprised either, I just wanted to make a joke about his weight. :)

Don't know if you guys saw this.

:slappy:

I wonder what line of clothing wants him to represent.

Maybe Ringling Bros. will want to branch out with alternative uses for their canvas?

Scary thing is what a competent coach might be able to do next year with all that talent Fat Bastard brought to South Bend and the weakest schedule in ND history. The parts might be in place for their long sought return to glory. Fat Bastard just doesn't know how to turn the key.

Perhaps, he should stick around for another year.

I think that losing six games must just about get him there. He is supposed to be an offensive genius and he puts up that pathetic performance against USC. His offensive coordinator goes walkies and he heroically takes over play calling to lose at home to Syracuse. The arguments about not having the players and the ability to blame Willingham have fallen away. The ego, the rude treatment of everyone in the University administration--Weis is isolated and without much support.

It is very hard to imagine that he will survive this.
