Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

Word all over ESPN radio today was Charlie could be let go as soon as Monday depending on how bad the USC game goes.

I really doubt that happens, but apparently alumni is sick of the guy and his arrogant attitude.

Scout.com is already running a story by Pete Fiutak saying Notre Dame should start a full-court press on Urban Meyer. I don't know why Urban would ever leave for Notre Dame?

I thought ND already went after Urban and he chose Florida instead? Regardless, there is no way he leaves Florida for ND.

Urban - "Hey, how about I leave the team on the verge of winning a title game twice in three years for a shitty Notre Dame team that hasn't won in years!"

If he leaves for ND, he's the dumbest man ever. Fuck, I wouldn't even take the ND job.

the only job he leaves UF for is ours (IMHO)

I'm not even sure if he would do that. If he's got multiple national titles at Florida, I'd think he would just stay there for the rest of his career. He'd be a legend there. Though if he wanted to come here after Tress retires, I would welcome him with open arms.

Agreed.

It would be a big culture change if Urban came here. I'm happy with Tress. Couldn't think of a better representative for the university.

+1

Gators in Glendale: Meyer, Ohio State go way back

Urban still has Woody's picture prominently displayed in his home, and talks to Earle Bruce regularly.

Yeah I know the history, but I think if he's had a ton of success there with multiple national titles and is a legend there I don't really know if he would make the jump. Would be cool down the road, but I dunno if he would. Personally if I were a coach I doubt if I would leave a great job where I've won multiple national titles to go anywhere, but maybe thats just me.

i think its just you. every coach seems to have that 1 special job that they would drop everything for. from what i understand tOSU is his. what i can't understand is when coaches leave their dream job for another job that pays more or is in the NFL. that makes no sense to me.

back to the phat phuck. they said on ESPN that there is a rumor that he could be fired for 5 million bucks, but joe shadd just said that number was waay off.

Yeah I agree with that. I think if Les Miles wasn't playing for a national title, he probably would have bolted for Michigan last year.

Just curious.. do you think he'd take the job if it were open? I'm assuming the answer is probably yes, considering your post.

Like I said, I love Tress. Just a hypothetical. :tongue2:

He promised his family (kids mostly) he would not move again when he left Utah, so maybe in five years he might think about it when they are out of high school, if Tress is so inclined to leave.
