Wow. So much vitriol. Look at it this way, Charlie may have mortgaged the future of the program by playing those upperclassmen starters all four quarters of every game back in 2005 and 2006, but how can you argue the strategy after seeing how high that raised the draft stocks of Jeff Samardzija and Brady Quinn ... or how padding those stats won Brady Quinn two Heismans ... or how all those reps together got them in perfect sync for their BCS bowls ...

One other thing that surprised me at the Weis postgame pressor (other than the podium floor held him up) was that someone asked him why ND burned all 3 of their 2nd half timeouts...he said the defense called the 3rd one, but had no idea why. Now, he may have been talking to the offense at that moment, fine, but don't you think a head coach would, before the end of the game, realize he had no more timeouts and as the DC why the fuck they called their last one??????? Seems like the kind of thing a HC should know during the course of a game. I can't see Tressel saying "Yeah, we burned 2 TOs on special teams, but I have no idea why"...WTF?

They just showed a clip during halftime of the Ball State/Western Mich. game and chucky said that Syracuse was "One of the best teams in the country". Shit you not...

Well, offensively - total yards Syracuse is among the top 114 in the nation and top 107 in points scored.
You want defense? Syracuse has that too! Top 102 in the nation in total yards and top 101 in pts against.

I think it's pretty clear Heavy C knows what he's talking about.

...not to mention getting Charlie a long-term, eight figure contract. That's a lot of cheeseburgers.

I hope they meant in relative terms i.e; relative to his size compared to nearly all other College football coaches, his buyout is not big in comparison to other College football coaches buyout, but with his ego exceding his stature, when he inked his contract he probably had no doubt that by now he would have coached 2-3 Heisman winners and 3-4 NC teams and would be looking at more money and not the door.

Or relative to the size of his ass.

Don't know if you guys saw this.

It has been reported Weis' annual compensation package is worth between $3 million-$4 million, which includes money from speaking appearances, media contracts and apparel deals. Some industry sources dispute that figure, saying Weis' total package is closer to $2 million-$2.5 million.

:slappy:

I wonder what line of clothing wants him to represent.

I am amazed. I just listen to Charlie Weis and I don't know what you guys expect him to do. Is three near national championships and two near Heismans not good enough? What about the near victories over USC? You work out what this man has done for agrculture alone and I ask you, "when will it be enough to silence all this criticism!??!
