The interview with Sir Charles reminded me quite a bit of an interview of Billy Joel I saw several years back, talking about how he had totaled X number of cars and drinks more than he should, but that he doesn't have a drinking problem.

Cleopatra isn't the only queen of de Nile.

Is Barkley ever not drunk by halftime for NBA on TNT? He just mumbles incoherently most of the time, and Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith look at him like "Is this idiot ever going to stop talking?" At least Daly just gambles...

Speaking of Ernie, is he ill or something? Something definately doesn't seem right about the side of his face.

It's on the right as we look at the TV, but that would be the left side of his face. I don't know what the story on that is - thankfully they do seem to be avoiding close-ups of him.

Barkley's chronic gambling continues

PHOENIX - Charles Barkley said Monday that he won "about $700,000" gambling in Las Vegas over the weekend.
"That was all profit (from) blackjack and I bet on the Super Bowl. I had the Colts," Barkley said in an interview with Phoenix television station KTVK. "I played a lot of blackjack."
Barkley did not say how much be bet on Sunday's game in which Indianapolis beat the Chicago Bears 29-17 in Miami.
In an ESPN interview in May 2006, Barkley estimated that he'd lost about $10 million gambling over the years.

Charles Barkley vs Dick Bavetta - Who wins the race?

Charles Barkley and NBA referee Dick Bavetta (age 67) are having a race this weekend (sometime Saturday evening, it seems). Who will will?

They are racing 235 feet (2 1/2 times the length of the court) - this has apparently been changed from an earlier length of 1 1/2 times the court
