CFP Title Game, Alabama vs tOSU, Jan 11, 8:15 ET on ESPN, Miami

Don’t speculate on things that you know nothing about. It makes your presence here tedious..

Ole Miss did not beat Indiana because of the refs, they did so because Indiana without Michael Penix is Indiana. Beyond that, we do not care. No one here would have brought up that game because we do not care about Indiana. The truth is, we find the “conference pride” of the SEC to be just plain weird.

If you really want to learn about the murky history of SEC officiating, google it.
Yep. I'm not a fan of the Big Ten. I'm a fan of Ohio State. I mean, let's look at it like this, for our SEC chanting friends to see just how dumb conference pride looks/sounds...

I like the Browns in the NFL, but you'll never hear me chanting AFC North! AFC North! AFC North?

Why?

Because to do so would be ... and this is the key part.... fucking dumb.

LOL- crooked Refs? Where did that come from? Maybe our 4 win, Ole Miss beating the heralded Indiana football team? LOL

Here’s where I let you in on a little secret... this guy is probably a Vols fan clinging to Bama’s success. He’s what most men in Alabama would consider to be a little yappy dog. A chihuahua. @Gcashwell must have left the gate open and another stray with a “SEC-SEC-SEC!” tag wandered in.

Sorry, guests are one thing. Obnoxious trolls are another. LOLRTRLOL.

I appreciate that some of you guys welcome the visiting fans.....but when he's just being cordial so he can throw uninformed jabs here and there while he spams the absolute shit out of this thread, just leave him be.

The replying to himself when people weren't immediately saying Bama was the best ever ever last night was entertaining too.

The Buckeyes’ storybook ending resides in Miami.

But the top-ranked Crimson Tide and their highly potent offense promise to be the ultimate challenge to cap off a season defined by obstacles on and off the field.

Composed of three players that finished in the top five of the Heisman voting, Alabama’s offense (12-0) is No. 2 in the country with an average of 48.2 points per game. Ohio State (7-0) possesses the sixth best offense producing 43.3 points per game and enters the game as underdogs having played five less games than the Crimson Tide as a result of a shortened season and cancellations.

Coming off an emotional 49-28 win over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, head coach Ryan Day said the team must maintain laser focus.

“I think we’re going to come out with our hair on fire and play as hard as we possibly can and go from there,” Day said Thursday. “You can’t go on and try to do too much against a great team like this. You have to just play one play at a time. On defense you get one stop at a time, on offense you get one first down at a time. You just focus on that, you look up in the fourth quarter, you see where you’re at.”

Ohio State’s tallest task will be containing Heisman Trophy winner and Alabama senior wide receiver DeVonta Smith. Smith has hauled in 105 receptions for 1,641 yards and 20 touchdowns this season.

The Louisiana native torched the Notre Dame secondary in the Rose Bowl, as he finished with 7 receptions for 130 yards and three touchdowns.

The challenge will largely fall on graduate cornerback Shaun Wade, who said he’s looking forward to matching up with Smith.

Ohio State enters the game as eight-point underdogs to Bama, very near the spread the Buckeyes opened with against Clemson. While the deficit against the Tigers was clearly misjudged (that’s what a lack of non-conference matchups will do, I suppose), analysts are certainly giving a nod to what the Buckeyes did last week in their analysis, keeping things within one score of an Alabama squad that picked apart the Fighting Irish.

That being said, Alabama is the top-ranked team in the nation for a reason. While there are some questions around the defense - which hasn’t been as stout as it was, perhaps, in previous seasons - the offense is literally elite at every position. Overall, the Crimson Tide are second in the nation in scoring offense (49.2 points per game) behind Kent State, while Ohio State is coming in tied for fifth with 43.4 points per game. The Buckeye defense will certainly have its hands full - especially a secondary that’s struggled this season.

There’s also the fact that, while it certainly didn’t seem to matter last week, Alabama has played more games. Whether the Crimson Tide can capitalize on that on-field experience in ways the Tigers couldn’t remains to be seen.

It’s certainly been a strange season, but at least Ohio State has the opportunity to end it on a high note - and with a national championship, no less. In order to get there, however, the Buckeyes will have to be firing on all cylinders - and then some.

LGHL prediction: Ohio State 45, Alabama 42

Also to do so would mean I'd have to root for those other teams. As a Bengals fan, I fucking hate the Clowns, Stealers and Ratbirds.

28 by halftime- good luck!
You didn't have 28 by the half against ND and now you get a team that has the ability to keep your offense off the field.

You guys are really good but I'm sorry I don't feel your team is one of the best of all time.

Good enough to beat us no doubt but if ND can hold you to 31 then certainly the potential is there.

Just like NW held us to 22 which shows Alabama can hold OSU in check.

All it takes is an off game from either team and either team can win handily.
