CFP Title Game, Alabama vs tOSU, Jan 11, 8:15 ET on ESPN, Miami

Hope we see a lot more Ransom in this game. The safeties are going to be clutch or scapegoats. I bet there's at least one huge hit by Ransom or Proctor that sets a tone for the Buckeyes and gives momentum. Thats my BOLD prediction.

I like it. Once we took Hooker out things turned out drastically better. Ransom played his ass off against Clemson... I've been the biggest fan of Ransom as a recruit, really saw Taylor Mays in his game. But never expected him to step up like that in the Clemson game, especially with almost no time to practice. Kid is going to be seriously good, just hope he has one more performance like Clemson up his sleeve tomorrow night.

Bold prediction, Devonta Smith under 80 yards.
Agree in the first quarter!

Garrett will be a top 50 pick. Togiai, who probably isn't playing, should be when he declares, if not higher. We'll have to see about the ends, they are mostly a young unit. Cooper is a solid guy but probably not a high draft pick. The future draft talent is Harrison and Smith. The latter is making big strides lately.

Baron Browning has elite athleticism as a pass rusher. Not sure they trust him on less than 3rd and 10 (he's a starting LB who may get some situational reps at DE)

They do not have an instant nfl pro bowl rookie like the last 6 seasons.

If I were a betting man, I'd say they have 4 guys that will eventually be top 3 round picks, , mostly top 2, but I'm not sure if Harrison and Smith are going to put it all together on Monday. Or if smith is in miami.
I've heard good things about OSU's D-line. But when you've got an experienced offensive line where both tackles are first rounders, the center is a first team All American, and the guards are likely 2nd round picks, it lessens the concern against a greatt defensive line. But with Dickerson out, it does create concern at center which is pretty damn important. But if TT is out, it's a wash. Our line is generally better pass blockers than run but they can do both pretty well. The offensive line and skill positions are the strength of our team. The weakness of our team is the defense. Ole Miss ran through them with ease and so did Florida. Ole Miss was an anomaly, early in the year and Kiffin like Sark is an offensive genius and he knew our tendacies better than anyone. Florida had no running game but with Pitts and their other receivers, there are not too many teams that can slow them down. Prediction Bama 45 OSU 38

The question I have is how healthy is Fields. Will he be running much on the read option and will he be an effective runner. Although, he is a pretty good passer when he is on, I don't believe he's good enough to beat us as a pocket passer. If he is not a running threat Monday night, I don't see OSU keeping it that close. If he is healthy and plays well, it's going to be a dogfight and we're all going to need more beer. Good luck!

One colossal factor in this game, the flip of Jordan Battle. Not only is he a huge part of your defense, but osu inexplicably went an entire class without a quality DB, and then had their only blue chip corner flipped by Utah after their coach left.

This coaching malfeasance was particularly inexcusable given the unprecedented run they were having at corner, yet they recruited at a northwestern level.

Osu really took a hit when they lost their db coach to the nfl, and then Grinch/Johnson collected paychecks for unknown reasons. The spring before the 2019 class entered their senior year, Denzel Ward was drafted top 5 and made the pro bowl. Lattimore was the reigning DROY and top 10 pick and they had had 6 guys in 5 years. Yet those guys signed absolutely no one. Ridiculous.

Osu lost 3 nfl starters from the 2019 defense, and battle would have gone a long way to shoring that up. Ironically it's not the two cbs they miss most, but their captain safety who was a sleeper in the draft but a key part of the rams defense now.

It's painful watching his physical, rangy play in tuscaloosa instead of columbus.
LOL - Understand, we've lost our share too, even had a really good CB transfer to OSU a few years back.

Kyle Trask thrived against Bama with stone feet and zero running game.

Fields' legs open things up, but he is not Jalen Hurts. His feet are a very distant second in his skill set.
You're right, Pitts their 6"6 mountain of a wide receiver and their other receivers cause problems for anyone. They were also jacked, it was their Super Bowl and our guys had been listening to the press all week about how they were a lock for the play-offs. Emotion is a huge part of it, which team does the win matter more to? With Fields, agree he looked great against Clemson but I've seen games where I thought he wasn't a good passer. Which Fields shows Monday night? Other than Florida, I don't think we played a really good offense. Notre Dame was one dimensional, Georgia didn't have a QB, and even Florida didn't have a running game. Ole Miss was great on the night we played them, QB was on fire.

This will be the best WR group you've played, by far the best backs, by far the best OL, and a QB that's every bit as good as Trask.

You're right though emotions play a big role which is why OSU being an 8 point dog shouldn't be dismissed. A couple minor bulletin board material too although nothing major. Mental edge should be to OSU.

You mentioned ole miss and I just watched that game. You're right. Ole Miss had success running the ball which surprised me a lot. Ryan Day takes a back seat to no one either when it comes to bright offensive guys who can put together a killer game plan. Right now I think Day, Kiffin, Sarkisian, and Riley are the big time offensive coaches.

Anyways it's been fun having you here... hopefully it's not a good game in a good way for the bucks though!

You didn't have 28 by the half against ND and now you get a team that has the ability to keep your offense off the field.

You guys are really good but I'm sorry I don't feel your team is one of the best of all time.

Good enough to beat us no doubt but if ND can hold you to 31 then certainly the potential is there.

Just like NW held us to 22 which shows Alabama can hold OSU in check.

All it takes is an off game from either team and either team can win handily.
True- and speculating is like shooting in the dark, sometimes you hit something and most times you miss. My last comment Buckeye Fans, and I'll get back to my own team. Good luck, hoping for a well officiated, clean game with no injuries on either side. Out......
