CFP Semifinal: Washington vs Alabama, Sat 12/31 @ 3p ET, ESPN

Bama is beatable, but the way they are built and coached, it's not going to happen much.
It's going to be interesting if our teams meet up again, because I think both fanbases love their QB but aren't sure if they trust him. The difference is the pre-approval process will be more substantial for Barrett than Hurts.

I'd throw in athletic ability, they flat out recruit the best, a level only tOSU is matching (recently). It takes athletic ability or 100% team synchronization to be able to swing back, only a few teams in the country have this in any given year
I've said this before. Saban wins now a days by fielding more talented teams. Love Saban's first few years going from 7-6 to 12-2 to 14-0. Turned around a team really quick, and in 2008 he really didn't have his recruits playing much yet.

In 2007 he had the No 11 recruiting class overall (rivals), then no 1 in 2008 which is impressive after going 7-6, and having vacated 5 of those wins for impermissible benefits. Then pretty much every year until now he's had the No. 1 class. So by the time Saban hit the 2009 season he had players that were at least as good as everyone else (not named Florida or USC). Then in 2010 his No 1 recruiting class became juniors and every year since he's simply had better players than everyone else in the country. Frankly, I'm surprised he only won 4 titles in that 7 year span.

The only way to beat Saban in a title game is to have players that are close in talent level and have an insanely talented coaching staff and game plan. Clemson last year, OSU the year prior, FSU for a while. There is a lot of talent in the SEC, but the coaching is just so freaking aweful that you really have to surprise Nick to win the game. All of the other 'great teams' over the last 7 years like Oregon and now Washington and Sparty just don't stand a chance. If you don't see your name in the top 5-6 of the recruiting rankings for 4 of the last 5 years then you really just don't have the players to match up. We saw that with Sparty last year. Sparty can develop 4,5,6 kids a year into studs and be a top 10 team, but they aren't going to match up with Saban that has 9 early round draft picks on both sides of the ball. They can catch us off balance in week 12 in poor weather and win a game. They can catch Saban off balance in week 12 and win a game. But they aren't going to win in perfect conditions when a team has time to prepare. That is how Saban lost 3 of those 4 years; he was caught off guard 1 too many times in the grind of the season. He didn't loose a title game. And I'm not talking about a runner up bowl; Oklahoma can beat a tide team that isn't in a title game because they just don't have a lot of fight and are looking at the draft. I'm talking 2014 when we brought a similarly talented team and a better game plan. That's the ONLY way you win a playoff game. Washington will have the game plan, but doesn't have the players. Clemson has both this year. I don't think we have it this year, we have the players (maybe not as many as Bama) but I don't think we have the game plan. Maybe with a few extra weeks we'll have the game plan.

You'd be crazy to trust a freshman qb against a well coached defense.

As far as saban's teams go, he told Mal Moore there he hired a "horseshit football coach, but a damn good recruiter."

I think you're selling Saban a little short. Yeah he does generally "out-talent" most teams but the dude is still an excellent tactician. The title game last year is proof of that. Generally Saban gets beat when teams play completely out of their minds while Alabama plays exceptionally poorly. There aren't many games where Bama just straight up gets beaten or games where you wonder just how the hell Alabama lost.

I also think you're overselling Clemson. The Tigers may have the talent and gameplan, but last year showed they don't have the in-game coaching in my opinion. No way they should have lost that game.

They should add a banjo playing emoji at the end for the brutal ass pounding they'd take at the end of their little playoff fantasy

EDIT

The internet is a wonderful place. I present to you the results of a google search for a deliverance emoji
