This will sound insane to say Gcashwell but when I look back on the tides championships I've never given your team full credit. What I remember was TX star qb was hurt and yes, a clean hit, and TX still made the game "somewhat close". Using the google Total yards TX -276 / AL - 263. Texas had (5) turnovers one being a pick six.
Also remember Saban trying an early disastrous fake punt on about the 30 yd line IIRC. hmm, sound familiar? I digress.
Saban was very conservative except for the faked punt ?!? So let's recap, shall we. Both Saban/UFM are devout Catholics, usually er almost always have a lot of talent and too often play not to lose which drive the fans crazy! ok, only mentioned Catholics 'cause used to be a devout Catholic myself IIRC.
carry on
I'd throw in athletic ability, they flat out recruit the best, a level only tOSU is matching (recently). It takes athletic ability or 100% team synchronization to be able to swing back, only a few teams in the country have this in any given yearBama IMO wins on reputation and intimidation more then anything and if you can swing back you'll have a great shot.
You probably/hopefully meant undefeatable. You can say many things re: 'bama, but undetectable definitely doesn't apply. Especially on defense.
And speaking of defeat er da feet ...
Is that undetectable as in unpresidented?
Yes and they also develop that talent very well so I don't mean that they aren't a talented program because obviously they are. What I mean is people are defeated mentally before they normally even play the tide at this point. They rightfully see all the championships and can't help but be intimidated but my point is to me at least 3 of those championships were at the hands of some favorable matchups.I'd throw in athletic ability, they flat out recruit the best, a level only tOSU is matching (recently). in 2009, bama's qb was injured. They had to be a great tebow-led Florida team in the sec championship.Yes and they also develop that talent very well so I don't mean that they aren't a talented program because obviously they are. If you come to play bama believing in yourself you have a good chance to be competitive and possibly even to win. If you come to the table afraid and tight it'll be over by half time
You can only win the games you are scheduled to play I understand that but when I look back on the Championships you guys won it just feels like there were some circumstances that really helped you guys. I think the college playoffs are great because it lessons the chance of the wrong two teams playing for the Natty. No coincidence I believe in that last year was far and away bama's toughest NC victory and it could've gone either way. Which honestly was impressive to see and I bet as a fan that was your most satisfying NC win.in 2009, bama's qb was injured. They had to be a great tebow-led Florida team in the sec championship.
In 2011, LSU and Bama were clearly head and shoulders above everyone else.
In 2012, the Sec championship was the national title game. ND sucked.
I don't really know what you want Bama to do. I don't think teams are defeated mentally before they play Bama. I think they play like they have nothing to lose. It's pretty well accepted that highly ranked teams generally get everybody's best shot.
Bama is beatable, but the way they are built and coached, it's not going to happen much.
However getting a 2nd crack at a opponent and getting to play in replace of OSU(who wasn't eligible) against a hapless ND team had to have been beneficial no?
True. OSU was 12-0 and would have played Nebby in the B1G Championship game, who they destroyed in the regular season. Didn't the Tide have 1or 2 losses that year? A 13-0 Buckeye team would definately have been matched up with ND.....with probably the same result for the Domers. If Ohio State was eligible it's entirely possible that the BCSNCG that year would have been Ohio State vs. Notre Dame.
I can't name a championship team in any sport at any time that didn't get a lot of luck. You can only win the games you are scheduled to play I understand that but when I look back on the Championships you guys won it just feels like there were some circumstances that really helped you guys. It's not your fault Colt McCoy got hurt so while it was fortunate for bama I am not talking as much about that as the other two instances.

Back to your guys' game though. I'm interested to see if Washington can hold up with their defensive line.
