Game Thread CFP Semifinal: Ohio State vs. Clemson, Sat 12/31 @ 7p ET, ESPN

It's only a half. I trust UFM. Have to say though that this feels a bit like 2007, when we were young and didn't really belong

Clemson: Scheme, Talent, Coaching, Experience
OSU: Scheme, Talent, ?, Youth

Scheme? Not sure about that at this point, either.

So you don't think there are problems with the offensive staff? Yeah, the players should be playing better, but their playing won't generally be better than how they've been coached to play.

One run for Weber in 30 minutes of football. That alone is a major, major problem. They haven't even tried to get the run game going. They've just conceded that they won't be able to run. That is entirely on the staff.*

*Unless Weber has an injury keeping him from being able to tote the rock that is being hidden, but that seems very unlikely.
There are lots of problems and they're not all solvable by firing assistant coaches. Isaiah Prince is a problem. JT Barrett is short, has a weak arm, and struggles if he doesn't have protection. I think that's his fault, not his coach's. The receivers can't get separation and drop too many balls. Maybe Zach Smith should be fired or maybe they'll get better with experience. This OL will be better next year regardless of who is coaching them and it's still going to be Meyer's offense regardless. Fans look for easy answers and Buckeye fans want someone's head on a platter for every loss. The scapegoating is beyond ridiculous. It's never just one thing. (Unless it's that they're not using blocking sleds in practice, of course.)

This team is battle tested. Will take a Herculean effort to sack up here and get back in it but they have a taste of what it takes. And a coach to lead them. Let's see if the coaches say FUCK it and get very aggressive. That's what it will take IMO.
