Game Thread CFP Semifinal: Ohio State vs. Clemson, Sat 12/31 @ 7p ET, ESPN

Advice?

I have determined it'd be best to ask for days off NOW just in case OSU makes it here. Reasoning: IF OSU beats Clemson, the cat will be outta the bag. My boss will become aware of the date, who's playing & specific issues we'd face due to our proximity to the stadium. Out of spite, she'll refuse my request at that point. As some of you know, she's a complete bitch who hates her life so she makes everyone miserable. Case in point:

A couple of questions to those who went in 2014 (or other years) or know about these things:

1. Sat. 1/7 is Media Day. Is this worth attending?

2. Mon 1/9...Tailgating begins at 11:30am. Anyone happen to know when College Gameday broadcasts?

Not sure if this belongs here. Sorry. Just trying to get ahead of the game. See how I made a pun there?

Just in case you're curious, yes I'm terrified this will jinx the entire Playoff...

I updated the little spreadsheet on OSU's record under Meyer by scoring total. I feel this is the best way to look at it because Urban has an offense first philosophy.

Key to the game you ask? Score 30+ is always going to be my response.

I think the distribution of points scored over the years is worth looking at as well;

Keep in mind two of those 30+ wins in 2016 came in OT. The offense has clearly regressed but the defense, save 2013, that they put on the field is good enough to win anytime you score 30+

No one has scored more than 30 vs an OSU defense since 'Bama in the '14 Sugar Bowl

Nothing earth shattering but interesting to see none the less

One thing that stood out to me in 14 leading up to the Bama game was how loose our guys were and how how they appeared to be having so much fun while Bama was just arrogant as hell and stiff. Urban knows how to do this thing pretty damn well.

I look at that first table and it says to me, in order to win, hire Urban as your coach.

Some wise football sage said long ago ~ It's amazing how many games you win when the opposing team doesn't score!

The year after the Bears won the the Super Bowl going 15-1, they started training camp w/an overweight McMahon who played only 6 of the first 12, suffering a season ending injury. Back-up qb's Tomczak/Fuller/Flutie finished the year. So basically they went the whole year w/out a legit NFL QB and finished 14-2.

They actually won (3) games in a row scoring 13/12/13 respectively. And the team that scored the most pts. against them was in game one. Wait for it ...

The Browns losing 41 - 31. I digress.

Here's hoping. But as I'm sure you already know, Clemson was the one team to beat Meyer at OSU when OSU scored that many points.
