Bottom line it would have been a good game between the 2 last year and I cant really say ND would have lost! OSU was just not that good guys, face it!

Notre Dame

2000
9-3
losses to: Nebraska, Michigan State, and Oregon State in the Fiesta Bowl

2001
5-6
losses to: Nebraska, Michigan State, Texas A&M, Boston College, Tennessee, Standford

2002
10-3
losses to: Boston College, Southern California, NC State in Gator Bowl

2003
5-7
losses to: Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Southern California, Boston College, Florida State, Syracuse

2004
6-6
losses to: BYU, Purdue, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Southern California, Oregon State in Insight Bowl

Ohio State

2000
8-4
losses to: Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan, South Carolina in Outback Bowl

2001
7-5
losses to: UCLA, Wisconsin, Penn State, Illinois, South Carolina in Outback Bowl

2002
14-0
losses to:

2003
11-2
losses to: Wisconsin, Michigan

2004
8-4
losses to: Northwestern, Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue

Overall last 5 years:

Ohio State: 48-15 with three bowl wins and a national title
Notre Dame: 35-25 with no bowl wins

Bottom Line: the records speak for themselves. That's why Ohio State has players being drafted, and Notre Dame is no where to be found on that list.

ND will give Charlie time! Just watch and see how many recruits he takes from OSU....

wow.....your drinking the kool aid already. I understand you think he is a savior and is going to do great things, hope does the heart good, but I will talk to you after he loses 4-5 games because of that schedule.

Until a blue chip recruit that OSU has targeted picks ND over OSU....I have no worries in this aspect. Weis is no Lou Holtz.

24. WR/CB/KR Ted Ginn Jr., Ohio State
The question will be where he projects to play. The NFL is full of fast guys who can do a little of everything well.

Yeah, I'm sure if Ted Ginn was eligible for the NFL draft after next season he'd probably go a little bit higher than 24th :slappy:

NDChief,
Thanks for the Northwestern comments, I'd attempt to throw some back at you but the Domers suck so bad that they aren't worth mentioning.
Keep living off the glory of the 80's.......

What does last 5 years' records have to do with which team would have won? I don't see how it has anything to do with anything. I look at it this way (which, I realize, is still very crude, but it's the best I currently have):

OSU lost to Purdue. So did ND. We can compare scores, but I don't like that idea. Besides, I don't know what ND's score vs. Purdue was, anyway. OSU beat Michigan. So did ND. Any other common opponents? (I don't know the answer to that.)

ND lost to USC. That shouldn't go against ND, as USC beat everyone they played.

I think they both beat Michigan State? (I know OSU did, duh, but what about ND?)

ND lost to BYU. OSU lost to NW. Suck for both teams.

ND lost to BC and Pitt. What? OSU lost to Iowa and Wisconsin. Both good teams. That gives the edge to Ohio State.

I think the important question is when does OSU play ND last year? Early or late? Early, and ND wins 28-17. Late, and ND loses 45-10.

Not much, the point of me posting that is because I'm tired of Chief talking shit about Ohio State. I guess I picked a bad quote to pull.

thxs Zurp. i browsed right over that. that's who'd I thought should be up there, but I also think that Salley may make a great NFL safety (size and speed).
I almost missed it, too. #13 and #14 don't have a space between them, making it harder to skim and catch #14.

Salley may very well make a great NFL safety.

Thats what I was thinking as well, it would've mattered when we played each other to say which team would've won.

We caught in a horrible 3 game stretch, losing to NW, Wisconsin, and then Iowa, if we put ND in that then it'll be a good game.

Put ND near the end of the season, and Ohio State rolls over them.

Give Charlie a few years he is hitting the recruiting trail hard.
Yeah, that and the buffet line. The dude had gastic bypass surgery (almost died!) and is still huge. Dude, put down the donut!

Edit...

Man, just saw Tibor replied with a similar post. Oh my God! I am thinking like Tibor! Is assisted suicide legal yet? Screw it, where can I get a good handgun? No, I can't wait til tomorrow! I got some sleeping pills and a bottle of Vodka around here somewhere.
