CBS names All-Decade Team

Seriously, how the fuck did that happen? I think Crabtree as a first teamer over Calvin Johnson is questionable at best as well.

I assume they were assigning that as slot (or split?) versus flanker? That would make it make sense. Otherwise, I totally agree.

Also, these rankings, for once, aren't that bad. In fact, I would probably, even as an obvious Ohio State homer, not have Laurinaitis on the first team. . .

(And I think Laurinaitis is the MAN! or animal. . .)

Agree 100% but the amount of vaginal irritation JL over Puznuts has to be causing on PSU boards is well worth it.

I didn't even think about that, the threshold for making Penn State fans whine like little bitches has to be one of the lowest in all of college football

Its not about how easy it is to get them going, the JL > Puznuts thing will test the whiny bitch-o-meter's top end range. They will go apoplectic over that one.

JL over Joe Thomas? Pardon my chortle. I'd say the same about Robert Gallery, but at least he has the outland trophy to hang his hat on. This list seems heavily slanted to players from the back-half of the decade and those who were recently drafted. I've always thought McFadden was a bit overrated, too.

Vy's 467 yards of offense outplayed Leinart in the BCS Title game. But if Texas wouldn't have recovered VY's fumble in the 4th quarter, or if the DB Ting would have held onto VY's across-the-field wounded duck, also in the 4th quarter; Leinart would be the easy pick for almost everybody.

A single play (a turnover or non-turnover) can have a gigantic impact on how players' careers are perceived.

Or If Ohio State had finished Texas off.

CBS picked a first and second team for the decade of the 2000s.

Teams with multiple selections:

Team........1st team...2nd team
Oklahoma......4............2
Miami.........4............0
Ohio State....3............1
USC...........1............2
Arkansas......1............1
Iowa..........1............1
Texas.........0............2 (no Vince Young)
Virginia......0............2

CBS

Questionable picks IMO:
Leinart over VY (and Tebow over VY for that matter)
Crabtree over Calvin Johnson
JL on the list
Ginn behind Bush
I would have put Bush above McFadden as RB

Random note:
We sure had some stud RB's this decade...

Pretty much agree with what was said. Young's on my first team along with Calvin Johnson and Ginn (as a returner).

I like Tebow, he's a great player, but Young was a better play maker and just a better player, even though many don't want to hear that.

C:
Neither Mangold or Bentley rank over Eslinger and/or Barron?

DL:
Will Smith at 2nd-team ahead of Elvis Dumervil? Oregon's Haloti Ngata also probably deserves at least 2nd team DL (ahead of Henderson).

TE:
KWII wasn't even the best TE on his own team this decade. I'd have Shockey ahead of him. Dallas Clark could be considered there too.

LB:
Rocky Calmus? Teddy Lehman had more AA selections (and years played) in this decade than Calmus. Patrick Willis and Jonathan Vilma are glaring omissions also.

It's hard to write Tebow off considering he has another year to make bigger things happen..If people have Young and Tebow close right now, then a big season by Tebow should definitely catapult him over anyone.

Of course, it's hard to go wrong with either, I just think Vince was a better at making big plays.

Also, the choice of Mike Williams is interesting on the one poster's list. He was flat out as dominant as they come in some of the games I saw him play. He would've probably gotten close to 1,600 and 20 had he come back. Still had an amazing career in just two years. Not sure I'd take him over Johnson or Crabtree though.

Again, not to blaspheme against HIM how about people start acknowledging the fact Tebow doesn't even have better numbers than Brad Smith before they crown him GOAT?

Brad Smith career
passing: 8,799 yds
Rushing: 4,289 yds
Total offense: 13,088 101 TD's

Tebow

passing: 6,390 yds
rushing: 2,037 yds
Total offense: 8,427 110 TD's

That's just one guy this decade that is at very least worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as TT. If you want to use Tebow's system inflated stats then you don't even want to see how far he is behind the Hawaii QB's.

Put Tebow on a shitty team like Mizzou and ESPiN has to talk about someone else being the greatest human to ever wear cleats.
