CB Shaun Wade (1st Team All American, Los Angeles Chargers)

This is arguably the biggest recruiting win of the 2020 class!

I was just saying the same thing. That and 3 OL coming back. You knew JK, Okudah, and Young were all but gone, so Wade was HUGE! And as thrilled as I am to have Shaun back, I think it's mutually beneficial. Already has been said, but a year as "the guy" should improve his draft stock considerably if he seizes the moment, which I have no doubt he will. And if this means Coombs is on his way back, then that's a double boom for us. Either way, this is absolutely critical from both a talent and experience perspective with Okudah, Arnette, and Fuller all gone. We've got a major leader coming back to lead this defense next year.

This is huge. I echo everyone's sentiments to the tee. Shaun will come back as the leader of next seasons defense at an incredibly important position. He'll be a Captain and have a major influence on the younger guys. Wish him nothing but the best in whatever decision he made. Thankfully, this decision strongly benefited Buckeye football.

Peace

Replacing 3 starting corners was going to be a tall order. Especially when guys like Brown, Riep, Banks, Williamson, etc, are good prospects but I don't know if you'd call any of them a sure thing. I am confident we can get 2 out of that group though now that Wade will be locking down one side.

What's the list of Ohio State players who were potential first round picks that came back for another season?

AJ Hawk might be the only player in the last two decades with a higher expected draft spot to return?

Although really not a projected high pick, the most important one to me in history will always be Mike Doss. As most of you remember, he went to his presser to announce he was leaving as a two-time All-American and got to the podium and couldn't do it. Mike's decision to return springboarded his 2002 Buckeyes to magical 14-0 season and the 2002 National Championship. To this day, framed copies of the local Paper and The Lantern with him holding up the National Championship trophy are framed and hanging on the walls in my "Buckeye Room." They are NEVER coming down.

Peace
