CB Lorenzo Styles Jr. (National Champion)

Not specifically, but it looked like an aggravation of the shoulder stinger that was bothering him earlier in the year and was described at the time as a “pain management” thing.

That seems optimistic based how that arm was hanging on the sidelines after. Collarbone would not surprise me. But I'm no doctor, just a fan with PTSD from the Cooper era and past four years.

Assuming that's what it is, the question is how does that affect him mentally? I wouldn't think you'd be able to keep him out of The Game and it's not like he's seriously going pro. He's all in for this one and no reason to hold back, BUT you can have all the right mindset and then flinch right when it matters.

The thing about a bad stinger is the first time it happens you think the world has ended and think you're paralyzed on one side. After that, you know intellectually that's not going to happen, but also that if you hit it wrong, it's going to really hurt. I think he's got a ton of heart and he's earned the start in The Game. I hope they give him a chance and that he balls out AND that he doesn't give up a big play either mentally or physically.
