CB James Scott (official thread)

this one may not be over. UF's CB commit Bert Reed is on the verge of visiting FSU and depending on who you believe he is either decommitting from UF or UF is going to yank his schollie. Sounds like there may be some movement with Scott and UF if this indeed happens.

Reed will not be a Gator is he goes to FSu as planned. Unfortnutely though, iMeyer comes after Scott if we get RoJo on Sunday. Hopefully Scott is enough a Buckeye to say no. Unless they plan on using Haden at CB, since he is such a spectacular athlete, there aren't any other real backup plans. Maybe if the UF coaches find out RoJo to Ohio State before they pull Reed's schollie, they keep it. You just never know.

Yeah, I remember. I don't expect James to renege, but I was just saying I wouldn't be surprise to see Meyer go after him. He's a "slick" guy and apparently doesn't care if the kid is committed elsewhere or not.

From ESPN the Mag:

Low Profile: Scott runs only a 4.59 40, which kept his stock from taking off. But it didn't scare off Ohio State, Alabama, Florida or LSU from hosting his official visits. Scott gave Urban Meyer a verbal commitment on Dec. 9. A week later, though, he announced a change of plans: He was headed for Ohio State. Scott will enroll early in Columbus.

High Ceiling: Speed isn't everything. Scott has perfect coverage skills, quickness, physicality and soft hands. (He had 66 tackles and two picks last season.) The Buckeyes have no DB depth and an average recruiting class, so he will play the nickel right away. And with Tedd Ginn Jr. gone, Scott could see time on offense and returns, as well.

WOW...play the nickel right away eh? Looks like someone hasn't been doing ANY homework at all. Don't get me wrong, Scott is an integral part of this class, but they couldn't have given us any less credit in that article.

I.E. Ever heard of...J. O'Neal, K. Coleman, A. Russell, N. Patterson? One of those 3 is practically guaranteed the nickel spot...unless injury strikes again. But I think we in the know would expect one of those 3 safeties to be back there as the 5th DB. What a crock of horsesh.t.

ESPN do research?......naaaaaaahhhhhh

He never gave a public verbal to UF...that bothers me they implied that. Cause if thats the case...they could write that about 5 guys that went to schools other than OSU
