i dont know what you have read so far, but i know that he is an incredible baseball player also. that has been posted earlier in this thread but also declined to go to camp at Michigan and said he is a buckeye all the way. sounds like it might be truescarletngrey77 said:ive read a couple of times now that devon torrence said that when he gets an offer from the buckeyes he'll commit, is that true? if it is thats amazing, someone passing up the recruiting attention that he could get.
is it a real possibility that he chooses baseball? or is Duane for sure about this?Folanator said:D-wayne says he is football all the way.
Yeah it's true to a degree. He said on an interview on Bucknuts awhile ago that his list was Ohio State period. If he doesn't go to the baseball draft he will be a buckeye and will commit as soon as offered.scarletngrey77 said:ive read a couple of times now that devon torrence said that when he gets an offer from the buckeyes he'll commit, is that true? if it is thats amazing, someone passing up the recruiting attention that he could get.

The final scrimmage pitted Canton South against Canton Central Catholic. Central Catholic featured a junior linebacker I had not heard about named George Tabron. Tabron, 6-3, 215 pounds, showed great speed and hitting ability. He played well and is a player we will watch closely at Ohio High magazine.
Crusader defensive coordinator Jeff Lindesmith is quite high on Tabron.
"George is a great kid with a great motor," said Lindesmith. "He's always around the ball and is coachable. He plays every day in high gear."
For Canton South, two senior captains played well. Rafael Johnson and Aaron Forte led a Wildcat defense that was able to shut out the Crusaders. They will be counted on to lead the Wildcats in 2005 as they attempt to qualify for the playoffs.
Another player that stood out was Devoe Torrence, a sophomore fullback and middle linebacker. Devoe Torrence, 6-1, 210 pounds, ran well with the football and was stout in the middle of the Wildcat defense. Devoe Torrence is listed as one of the top sophomore in Ohio High magazine. We do not rank the sophomores individually, but if we did, he would be near the top of the list.
Seeing Chris Wells in the morning reinforced my thinking that we have the right guy as the number one senior in Ohio at Ohio High. Seeing Devon Torrence play that night made me just as sure that he is the right choice as the top junior in the state.
Devon Torrence has always been the fastest player on the football field. At 190 pounds, he is becoming a complete football player because he is now one of the most physical players on the field. Defensively he stopped the run with numerous big hits from his safety spot. He didn't allow a pass completion in his area either. His closing speed to the football was impressive and he arrived with bad intentions. Offensively he scored the only touchdown of the two period scrimmage on a brilliant 65-yard catch and run. He also scored during the controlled scrimmage on a 30-yard scamper.
This scrimmage had the intensity of a playoff game and was a great way to close out the day. South held on to win 7-0 and the performances by the Torrence brothers, as well as Johnson and Forte, have the Wildcat faithful excited for the 2005 campaign to begin.
