The actual Dolphins Killer B's was a bit later, Marino's first year and before.
Baumhower, Brudzinski, Bokamper, Betters and the Blackwood brothers (Glenn and Kyle). There's a couple more also I believe but can't remember off top of my head. I was a full on Dolphins fan by then. AJ Duhe was the middle linebacker that I immitated crashing through the stood up mattress in my room, well at least before my dad came in and kicked my ass for "tearing up the house!" Pffft buzz kill

But, I'd love the Buckeyes to have their own version.

Speaking of Nick Buoniconti and 1975, on Jan. 1st of that year I happened to see Buoniconti as we were walking out of the Rose Bowl in the same small crowd.

But i suppose, back to Denzel.

Burke is turning in one of the best performances I've seen from a true freshman here. I think I've said it before, but playing at the level he is at corner for a true freshman is just ridiculous. Kind of funny looking back and wondering why he was starting in Week 1 not knowing what the coaches already knew.

I found a great article that lists some of the true Freshmen that have made impacts at Ohio State:

OSU football continues true freshman tradition

The 2021 college football season marks the 50th year that freshman were eligible to play immediately, with exceptions granted previously only during World War II and the Korean War.

Denzel Burke—2021 (cornerback)
Starts – 8 (through Penn State)
Stats – 18 total tackles, 11 solo, 1 interception (returned for a touchdown)
Season Note – Injuries in the secondary pressed him into starting duty for the first game of the year at Minnesota, and Burke has not looked back.

Only 4 other DBs are listed in the article, I'd expect Burke to ultimately have a similar career. Anyway he's in very good company with these guys:

Kelvin Bell—1981 (defensive back)
Career Note – Three-year starter with 12 career interceptions, which are still tied for ninth most in school history.

William White—1984 (defensive back)
Career Note – White was a four-year starter, named all-Big Ten in 1987. His 16 career interceptions are tied for third-most by a Buckeye, and three in one game matches another school record.

Greg Rogan—1984 (defensive back)
Career Note – Started 40 career games for the Buckeyes, with 11 interceptions.

Malcolm Jenkins—2005 (defensive back)
Career Note – The four-year starter was an All-American and the Thorpe Award winner in 2008, and is currently playing his 13th year in the NFL with New Orleans in 2021.
