I imagine the kid from Ole Miss coming in might have sparked some fire and competitiveness in Burke. Good. Let's get that shit back to where it should be!

After a year for Burke and the entire secondary that didn’t live up to expectations, his Ohio State teammates and coaches have seen him approach this offseason with a different level of hunger.
“Competing way harder than usual. He’s in here at 5 a.m. watching film like before anybody is here, so that's what kind of separates him and makes him a great player,” fellow junior cornerback Jordan Hancock said. “He's definitely moving like a pro. Maybe he didn't do that last year. I feel like he kind of did last year, but he's taking it to a whole different level this year, and I feel like he's gonna go back on the map this year.”

‘Pro approach’ showing immediate results for Denzel Burke
Ohio State cornerback Denzel Burke shined during the spring game, continuing what’s been an impressive offseason for the junior.Burke did more than just get 100% healthy since the end of the 2022 campaign. He’s taken the “pro approach” head on.
“Honestly, it’s just being in the facility before everyone in the morning,” Burke explained Saturday. “Get some work in before practice, get some work in after practice, watch some extra film. Just having the edge on my opponent.”
That’s allowed Burke to be on point. He certainly was during this weekend’s intrasquad exhibition. Burke wasn’t the only Ohio State player turning heads, though.

- Davison Igbinosun, Denzel Burke and Jordan Hancock have all been consistent forces at cornerback for Ohio State, Day said. Overall, Day feels the secondary has “more depth and more length” than in years past.

This thread bump is the first anyone has said anything about Burke in 2 weeks. You know what, that is awesome! Granted it was Indiana's passing attack but you could tell right away in that game that they wanted to test him to see if they had something going. After two attempts at him, they decided that was a bad idea. He was decisive and aggressive. He knew where the ball was the entire day when it had anything to do with his coverage which is night and day from last year. He looked fast as hell and I think that is a difference in his confidence level and knowing what he's supposed to be doing. Only one pretty weak test but he passed with flying colors. Western KY will test our secondary and others will too down the road but the first game looked like a great start.
