CB Armani Reeves (National Champion)

I didn't know it was a requiremet, chief.
If I donate, do I get to be in the cool kids clique?

In all honesty, I didn't have the funds for a while.
Now I do, but... Comments like that make me not want to.

There are ads, last time I checked.
It's not a requirement.

We don't like doing this but when almost no one chips in, what alternative do we have? The membership numbers and server costs continue to explode, and despite your insight on the subject, the advertisements do not cover our costs. In fact we routinely cut down our already insufficient ad revenue to avoid unfriendly advertisements.

We all have tight budgets, though whether that precludes a $5 donation or monthly $1-3 is hard to say.

But it isn't just that. Amazon dominates the online world yet our gigantic community only buys 1-3 dozen items per month with a referral link which is a free donation from the cheapest retailer around. That's just disheartening, especially because a small number really do make an effort.

I wish people stepped up after the hundreds of polite spring drives or other classy approaches from Deety or clarity, but most do not. I wish they would engage in the topic at all without us having to resort to "you live on bp but don't support us: ( " tactics, but they do not. So if the outcome is that someone is turned off from doing the thing they were not doing anyway, the only loss is on our end for being forced to do that to elicit a response.

People clearly love bp. We have hinted, asked nicely, asked aggressively, and still the result is the same. What else can we do to get the help of folks like you lv? :(

1) this is somewhat personal, but DON'T MAKE ME FEEL LIKE AN ASSHOLE FOR EXPRESSING MY OPINION.
2) there is no 2.

that's it. in a nut shell.

i'm sorry for not being part of the BP hive mind.

i was nominated, and offered a mod position at the Scout site. i turned it down.

if i donate, does my opinion or observation matter more?
NO.

if i donate, or not, does that make my Scarlet and Gray roots mean less?
NO.

if you want/need donors, i would suggest that you follow the Golden Rule and treat people how you would like to be treated.

i'll donate. hit me up. but don't treat me like a second class citizen otherwise.

I'd rather not do that, but at some point desperation takes over.

The opinions cost money. We prefer to not require anyone to pay to express those, but when so few do, then the rest are paying for everyone else's enjoyment and opinions.

Hive mind = donating? :so: If so, that's a tiny hive. It's about the same size as the Bauserman fan club enrollment.

No one is more outspoken against being pressured into donating than Clarity, but even he put the smack down on Pinky lately given the state of things.

Then we're all pals... and nothing happens. :(

So short of privately leaning on every poster on BP, which I doubt would be a comfortable experience for anyone, what could we do?

Give me some suggestions as someone who is now willing to donate. What can we do to shake people out of apathy?
