Cavs-Celtics Series 2010

The Cavs are the top seed, while the Celtics' stars are fading. This is Cleveland's year. If not now...when?

The Celtics starters compare favorably with Cleveland but the Cavs bench is MUCH deeper. Boston has lost 10+ games this season in which they led after 3 quarters. I suspect that weakness will come back to bite them again in this series.

So has anyone seen the video that everyone is talking about today in which Celtics GM Danny Ainge (who was sitting behind the hoop in Monday's game 2) threw a towel high in the air to distract Hickson just as he was about to shoot a free throw? While it had no bearing on the outcome of the game (indeed, Hickson made the free throw), it seems like a total bush league, unsportsmanlike move. Especially since it was an NBA GM that did this, I can't imagine he gets away without a fine of some amount.

It might be silly for an NBA GM to do that, but how is it bush league or unsportsmanlike? Fans wave their arms, wave signs, wave thunder sticks, jump around, etc.

Do they throw things 10-15 feet into the air? Didn't think so. And is your common fan the GM of an NBA team? Again, I don't think so. Maybe you don't see things the same way, but I hold NBA GMs to a higher standard than Joe NBA Fan. If you disagree, then please explain why Mark Cuban gets fined for bashing officiating, but Joe NBA fan doesn't.

Is throwing towels in the air somehow the line not to cross in free throw distractions? How is it any less distracting than this:

Mark Cuban gets fined for bashing officiating because the NBA prohibits owners and employees from bashing officiating.

You're really trying to equate an NBA GM throwing a towel 10-15 feet into the air with a bunch of college kids jumping at most a foot in the air? :roll2: . OK. Like I said in my previous post--I have a problem with this because it was an NBA GM, not Joe NBA fan, and it (throwing a towel 10-15 feet into the air) is something that (I'm speculating here, but I'm pretty sure I'm correct) no NBA fan is allowed to do during the course of a game.

Mark Cuban gets fined for bashing officiating because the NBA prohibits owners and employees from bashing officiating.

...and why does it do so? Wait for it--because NBA owners are held to higher standards than Joe NBA Fan.

I don't hold NBA GMs to a higher standard. Most of them are idiots.
