Cavs-Celtics Series 2010

I've been saying this all season long. I'm a Lakers fan (have been since mid 90s when Kobe was a rookie) and i truly believe Orlando is the best team in the east. The star power and depth of that team is great. I think alot of people forget that Nelson was injuried last season. He did come back but was not the same Jameer Nelson that he used to be and they still made the finals. These playoffs he is finally back to full strength, and it is quite obvious from what he has been doing. So with Nelson back to himself and leading the team, plus the addition of Vince Carter this year makes Orlando just that more deadly of a team.

Cleveland did add some beef to the team as well, but Jamison has always underachieved what he could do, and Shaq is over the hill. LeBron is still lacking that other big-name star to help him out. Sure he can do alot, but he cannot do everything.

Personally, I'd call the Hedo-for-Vince situation a push at best. I actually think that Hedo's more of an asset in the Orlando system than Vince, but that's JMHO.

I'd call it close to a push, but i'd give Vince alittle bump. Carter could take over a game if he wanted to since he has that all-around game. Hedo, IMO, was almost a one sided player. He can shoot the lights out, but he couldn't post up and his driving was OK at best. Vince can shoot very well, can post up, and has a strong drive to the basket.

Either way, Cleveland did not add that 2nd go-to guy that the desperatley need to help LeBron out. If they thought Jamison was going to be that, then they might want to question their front office.

For LeBron to stay in Cleveland (and not win a championship this year) they will for sure need that wnd all-star. Cleveland needs to push for Chris Bosh IMO. Bosh could be that inside/outside presence that Cleveland needs. I doubt they could afford him, but they might be able to find a way. Otherwise i honestly think LeBron is gone, unless they win the championship this year.

I would be quite amazing to see the likes of a LeBron-Wade team or LeBron-Bosh team, which might just happen in NJ.

Well for one, i cant stand baseball at all. Yes the Braves were good back then, and had a great pitching rotation...but i hate baseball. As for Duke, they didn't bother me. I was more worried about OSU football and basketball at the time.

What's this have to do with the Cavs series? haha

If anything...the playoffs are showing that the Cavs are not as deep as people think they are. Compared to Boston or Orlando, Cleveland does not have the depth to compete with them over a 7 game series. Boston is showing that speed can kill Cleveland. Rondo tore up their entire team yesterday with ease. If the Cavs get by Boston, they will have to face Orlando again, which is just as fast and overall a better team. Nelson will cut through Cleveland just like Rondo has done.

Boston and Orlando are the the two best teams in the East. I'd give Orlando the slight edge just because of how deep they are as a team. Both teams have players that can take over a game when one of their star players is having an off night. Cleveland does not have someone like that, who can take over if LeBron is having a bad day.

It will be interesting to see what happens...but i have a feeling Orlando will be back in the finals.

I don't see how Nelson and Rondo are comparable at all. Nelson is a PG who rarely penetrates but rather opens up the court as a spot-up shooter. Rondo is a penetrator and routinely passes up open jump-shots to get the ball to the rack. Nelson splits a lot of minutes with "White Chocolate" Jason Williams. "White Chocolate" wouldn't see the floor as a Celtic.

I'm not saying Boston is better than Orlando, I just take exception to the statement that Cleveland would struggle with Jameer Nelson b/c they're struggling with Rajon Rondo. The only way Jameer Nelson hurts you is if he's knocking the 3 ball down.

Did you watch the Orlando-Atlanta series? Nelson was driving all over the Hawks in the series. Yes i agree he is a better shooter then driver, but he can and will drive. I was making the comparision because both of them are quick PGs, and that seems to be what kills Cleveland. Cleveland doesn't have someone who can guard a fast PG. If you stick LeBron on them, then that leaves a mismatch somewhere else on the floor, and usually opens up the best player on the other team.

The road court advantage continues in this series as Boston romps in game five. Here's hoping the home team prevails in game six. :wink2:

Last night again showed that LeBron does not have any support. He had a really bad night, but the Cavs do not have anyone that can step up. This is the same problem they have had in years past, but never did anything about it. As for LeBron having a bad game...it almost looked like he wasn't trying. When Boston started to pull away, he could've easily kept Cleveland in the game, but instead hardly took a shot or an attempt. He was just sitting on the weak side watching his team do everything on alot of their trips down the floor.

Is this the last game LeBron played in Cleveland? Only time will tell.

Any ideas on who wins tonight?

As for history, the Celtics have only lost like once when leading a series 3-2. As for the Cavs, they are 0-4 when down 3-2. Plus the game is at Boston which, in this series, home court has not been an advantage but i think will still be an advantage. I'm guessing Boston wins tonight, but Cleveland will keep it close.

The real other question is, how will LeBron respond from his last game?

Look for the "New York Knicks, New York Knicks" chant to be used frequently by Boston fans tonight. :)

I could see that. Boston fans are, afterall, the most atrocious pro-sports fans out there. Worse than Philly fans. There, I said it!
