Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

For me it would depend how bad GS wants to get rid of Jackson. I'm not willing to give up Shaq, Z, Andy, or JJ for him. I'd give them D. Jackson and Boobie or West along with someone else that gets the deal done and a draft pick if needed. I think SJ would give the Cavs a great lineup, but not if they have to give up Z, JJ, or Andy to get it done.

You gotta think that we have Powe coming back mid season...It would be risky but if JJ would get this deal done I would think long and hard about it.

It would allow us to go with LBJ at the 4 quite a bit with Parker/Jackson at the 2/3 and be real long and athletic and have the ability to score the basketball.

I really like Hickson, and Jackson is a risky pickup, but he could give us 15/night...

How does everyone see the minutes going in the regular season, not counting games with scrub time (and after West is 100% back). I'm thinking something like:

PG
36 - Mo
12 - West

SG
20 - West
22 - Parker
6 - Green

SF
28 - LeBron
20 - Moon

PF
30 - Verajao
10 - LeBron
8 - Hickson

C
24 - Shaq
24 - Z

I would think that Parker might get some minutes at the PG position and take away those 36 from Mo.

The below sums it up about Larry Hughes
Cleveland.com

Larry Hughes back in wine and gold? Cavalier Attitude sums it up best here: "The Cavs would rather be down a guard and go four-on-five instead. Maybe not literally, but that's a lot closer to the truth than you think." ? Read more

I think Hickson will get a couple more minutes maybe from Varejao, and I think Shaq will get a couple more of Z's minutes to keep him happy. I also see Boobie getting some minutes although probably not close to 10 per game.

I think that rumor about Larry Hughes was pulled out of the same rectum as the "Derek Anderson is the only untouchable" rumor. Only problem with it is that this franchise is competent enough to make it implausible.

PG
36 - Mo agree
12 - West agree

SG
20 - West agree
22 - Parker sure
6 - Green I think Boobie will get these at least for now. Green will start the season more as a scrub minute/couple a game guy. If he plays well and Boobie can't find his shot it could go this way by the second half. In crunch time I doubt the guard rotation goes much beyond Mo, West, and Parker unless one of the kids really comes on. Moon can probably fill in here as well.

SF
28 - LeBron agree
20 - Moon agree

PF
30 - Verajao I'll give him 20-25
10 - LeBron
8 - Hickson 5-15 depending how he plays on a given night

C
22 - Shaq
21 - Z
5 - Andy - Have to keep Shaq and Z fresh. I always like the lineup with Lebron at the 4 and Andy at the 5

the guy that came up with this rumor is a known LBJ to the Knicks shill. So, when Hughes made the comment that Lebron was staying in Cleveland about a week ago, this sort of "rumor" was inevitable.

Jamaal Tinsley turned down a nonguaranteed contract from the Miami Heat at the veterans' minimum of $1.4 million, and the Cleveland Cavaliers could take advantage.

Peter Vecsey of the New York Post noted that Cleveland coach Mike Brown had a good relationship with Tinsley as an assistant at Indiana, and the Cavs might be interested if Delonte West's off-court problems continue.

The Pacers owe Tinsley $5.5 million for this season and the same for 2010-11, and he insists on a guaranteed contract.
