Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

This.

We made Chicago's offense look like the Phoenix Suns. Thankfully Chicago can't play any defense either and we outscored them. You ABSOLUTELY cannot play a half-court game against Boston and give up over 100 points and expect to win. Either you dig in and play hard-nosed defense as well, or you push the ball and take advantgae of our athleticism. Tonight was a joke of an effort....

Hell we're down by 23 and this team is still stuck in a hold the ball pattern.

Not sure why Mike Brown thinks a half-court style is our best way to win. Especially when our half-court defense is getting smoked. You want a spark for the team...tell them to play without a consience. No bad shots, green light specials all over the court, just push the f'n ball.

Before, I was convinced LeBron was coming back. Now, I'm pretty much convinced he's not. It's been fun.

I disagree. He's been like Russell Hammond. Jeff Bebe said it best when the plane was going down:

None of us love you. You act above us, you always have. You just held it over us like you might leave, like we're lucky to be with you. And we had to live with it, man. I had to live with you, and now I might die with you, and it's not f------ fair!

Cavaliers: Cavaliers Video Player

Link to post-game pressers.

LeBron's is pretty painful to watch for a variety of reasons:

1) He looks nervous. Like he has no clue what's wrong with his game/the team/his elbow (?). Or something else. I don't know.
2) He spews a lot of BS. At least Mike Brown recognizes his faults and shortcomings in his pressers. LeBron is just so nonchalant and sounds like things are OK.
3) "When you have 3 bad games in a 7 year career its easy to point that [a bad game] out"...uh, when it's this bad- it sticks out on its own merit. No responsibility.

saw this Plain Dealer tweet too

I didnt see or hear anything remotely close to him dissing fans or whatnot. Sounded to me like he was very disappointed but didnt want to say anything pointedly. The only thing I really questioned is what the hell is he looking at the whole time? Not making eye contact to the people in the media is very disconcerting.

His game was just like all the games that Cleveland struggles in. When he comes out looking for his team mates to make plays and they dont step up to make plays, then the game becomes 1 on 5. The Celtics are too good for Lebron to try and win it by himself. The poor shooting happens in a game. The fact that he didnt get to the basket in the first half and try to collapse the defense worried me alot. The second half he tried some but they werent playing enough defense on the other end to keep the game close enough for that. KG and Ray Allen were unconcious the first half or Cleveland could have made a run. In the second half, the Cavs never came out of the locker room.

On a side note. Someone mentioned coach Cal with Lebrons agent and Dan Gilbert. One could only dream of a coach like Calipari with this Cavs team, intact. I've never liked Mike Brown as a coach and in the postseason his deficiencies are magnified.

After having a chance to really think about this game and what has transpired with LeBron basically not showing up for 3 games in this series, especially this one, all I have to say is:

wtf LeBron James. What in the hell is wrong with you????

I don't care if we win or lose. It's one thing to lose when you know that you gave it every single thing that you have. But to just lie down to an inferior opponent is pathetic. LeBron is the best player in this league and it's just [censored]ing sad and unacceptable to play like that.

LeBron was talking about the Celtics big 3 saying how KG just "stepped up" and that's what Hall of Famers do. Well yea, apparently not in Cleveland...

OK one more thing. Play like you are happy to be there. I never see LeBron pouting and being passive like this. He is usually agressive and now he's all the sudden turned in to some pansy, and for what???? You can dominate when you want to. You've shown that in this series. I just don't get it. Something is wrong and it better get figured out in the next 39 hours or it's over.

I find this strangely comforting, in the way I might if somebody told me "everything's gonna be alright" as I lay dying.

It got updated again last night....

LebronsElbow: What I meant by "Have Faith" was...quit your job, start drinking now, sacrifice a lamb to Zeus and pray Rondo's limbs fall off.

I was trying to figure out why I had a hard time sleeping after this and I figured out that what is so disturbing is..... The Chemistry problems are obvious once they had any adversity the entire teams body language went to shit... In the back of my mind I feel like Lebron is alreay looking for an excuse to leave and basketball in the city of Cleveland will leave with him. Being a life long Cleveland fan has turned me into a fucking basket case.... this is feeling like 95. My hope is Lebron sees that coach needs to go, a free agent needs to be picked up (an emotional leader) and the Cavs are good to go..... my problem is im picturing three free agents going to New York winning it all a year later ala celts in 06 and the world laughing at Cleveland yet again.

Late in the season, the Cavs played at Boston. They were down 22 in the second half, but came roaring back to take the lead late in the game. Although the Celtics won, the Cavs showed a ton of fight. The biggest worry for Cavs fans, I think, is that the team showed 10 times the fight in that late-season, meaningless game than it has in either game 2 or game 5. In each of the latter games, when Boston has gotten up double digit points in the third quarter, it seems as though the Cavs have just quit.

Lebron always talks about wanting to be great, and how "great players step up in the biggest games." So far he hasn't done anything to indicate that he wants to be a great player. Yeah, its pretty sweet to dominate in the early games of a series or against a weaker team, but he hasn't really shown much when his team has faced adversity and been down on the ropes.

I'm just going to have a really hard time ever putting Lebron up with the greats like MJ/Magic/Bird/Kobe etc. until he actually proves he can develop some sort of killer instinct and will his team to victories, and eventually championships. Right now he is just a great, great talent but hasn't accomplished sh**.
