Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

I mean that is a terrible quote, but I don't normally mind Jalen as a commentator. He's not the best by any means, but I don't usually want to rip out my hair when listening to him.

Thta is fair. He's no Greg Anthony, but he's better than a lot of guys.

I will say he botched Anderson's name, and he tried passing Tarence Kinsey off as an integral part of the bench that gets lots of minutes. When he talked about guys stepping up he should have mentioned Pavs, and not Kinsey. My guess is he looked at the box score and assumed Kinsey must be playing a lot.

It just bothers me his primary job is being an analyst, and he botched Anderson's name, and talked about Kinsey stepping up to keep the Cavs afloat during West and Z's injury spell. Just shows a lack of detail and close following of the league.
Watching the Cavs-Warriors game... the GS announcers are fucking annoying. LBJ hits a ridiculous 3 as the shot clock winds down, and the announcer's response was "that's who he is. He hits that but misses the easy ones..."

seirously? :shake:
I agree on the GS announcers and I also found that particular comment annoying. I don't know if you watched any of the pregame but you would've thought the Warriors were getting Michael Jordan back from injury the way they were talking about Monta Ellis. They literally said, and I'm not even exaggerating, that Ellis is as important to the Warriors as LeBron is to the Cavs! If that's the case watch out for the Warriors in the West because they are going to win 80% of the rest of their games.

I hope you're right. I would feel better about the Cavs needing a last second shot to win.

Anytime you can get a win on the west coast I'll take it, I don't care what the Warriors record is. I don't really look too much into it because that isn't the team that'll be on the floor in the playoffs in three months(hopefully). The Warriors did beat Boston and they were without Ellis, Crawford and a think Maggette as well so it's not an easy place to play especially when the crowd gets up for the game.

Hickson just posterized somebody on a putback. That was sick!

LeBron had a nice dunk of his own after that, and apparently took a shot to the face that went uncalled in the process. They still haven't shown a replay, and LeBron was still down when they went to commercial.

it's frustrating towatch the second line give the lead back, but what is really amazing is how infrequent that hasbeen this year.

Last year, LeBron would leave the game with a lead, and you just hoped when he came back in, the deficit wasn't too bad.

The lack of 2 starters is hurting our bench, but it's fun to see how far this team has come. Again, this was an every night occurence last year.

I was about to post about how I'm pissed off at Mike Brown insisting on keeping LeBron on the bench until the 8:00 mark, even if it costs them their entire lead. You kinda talked me down though.

The second unit needs to be able to hold their own out there. They've had a good plus/minus without LeBron for most of this year, but not tonight.

Only 14 points for the Cavs in the second quarter. Those four minutes with LeBron on the bench killed the entire quarter for them.

I will say this about Mike Brown's rotation: I wish he would've taken the opportunity to expand the lead while they had the momentum going into the quarter. I think they were in a position to move the lead to 20-25 pts., and then you can rest LeBron. I don't see why he has to sit at the same time, every time.

Mo Williams seems to have gone ice cold over the last 1-1/2 games. Here's hoping that changes in the second half.

I rarely do, but I'm gonna cut Brown some slack. Second night of a back-to-back, and these guys are playing 2 starters down.

Mo Williams minutes have increased, and Sasha seems to have come back to earth tonight.

I guess there is a reason the Cavs are getting 3 points from Vegas tonight. I was a bit surprised at how well we came out, but not shocked to see Utah get right back in it. Hopefully, LeBron takes a shorter rest in the second half, and they can keep it close in the 4th. For some reason, I'm seeing a 10+ point win for the Mormons.
