Cavs 07-08 Season Thread

this team does need blown up, and it will become apparent as this season rolls on.
No shit. It's been apparent since they acquired all those bad contracts.

lbj is the best player in the nba hands down.

Agreed
z is getting older, slower, and softer. he had a nice game last night, but he'll fade down the stretch.
He's not the problem. He's not hurting the team.

gooden may be functionally retarded. i've never seen someone with so much talent play such stupid basketball.

He needs to put some games together so they can trade him. I'm taking AV over Gooden every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

gibson can shoot, which is good because his defense is poor.

Yes , he can shoot, but I'm not sure if he can be a starter. He still needs to go to the hole more.

to say hughes and sasha have had their struggles is like saying jared from subway lost a few pounds. no matter how much you sugarcoat sh*t, it's still sh*t. and those two are two heaping piles of it.

Can't argue with that. Hughes would be an ok bench player, if only for his defense, if he was only making 2mil.

this team has reached it's ceiling with the current roster and coaching staff. their offensive gameplan is inept, and their talent marginal. cleveland is lucky to have the best player in the nba to keep them out of the lottery.

I'll disagree here. As long as LBJ, Gibson and AV keep getting better, they haven't reached their ceiling. The rest of the team is a different story.

LeBron James, who had 27 points for the Cavaliers, attracts defensive pressure from Tim Duncan of the Spurs.

Cavaliers 90, Spurs 88 -- LeBron James wasn't looking forward to a fourth overtime in three games.
So when San Antonio's Manu Ginobili shot the ball for the chance to tie with just seconds remaining, all James could do was hope the Spurs standout missed.
Ginobili did, and James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were able to breathe easy.
"You know it was down to the last shot again for us going into overtime," said James, who scored 27 points in the Cavaliers' 90-88 victory last night in San Antonio. "It was big to see the ball not go in with no time on the clock. Big win."

I will never understand this situation...I know it is the d-league but anytime he gets on the court and gets minutes he impresses...For all you Sasha and Hughes haters, you guys should be wanting this kid to see more minutes in a bad way...

I'm with ya on that. Anybody that keeps Hughes and Pavlobrick on the bench is OK by me.

A team that has a once-in-a-lifetime talent like James shouldn't have a ceiling- if the front office is doing its job.

they kill themselves. In the ABJ today, a rumor that the CAV'S are trying to get Gasol from memphis. I would love to see Iggy and Gasol on the court with KING LEBRON. and MY OWN DREAM WITH CONLEY AT THE PG.:biggrin:

My trade with Memphis would be Z and Gooden for Gasol and Conley. The Cavs would need someone like Simmons to step up to fill the void at 3rd big.

Dream come true trade. Conley is a stud. Memphis' coach, whom I'm not going to try and spell is in love with Mike though. Don't see that happening.

If we could trade Z, Gooden, Shannon Brown or Sasha for Gasol/Conley I'd be all for it too

having a guy playing at the speed Mike does, with the ability to get into the paint any time he wants would make LeBron the best player in the NBA hands down.

Assuming we don't get a true PG this year, Ty Lawson needs to be a target in the draft.

He'll be gone long before the Cavs pick provided he comes out.

something needs to be done to get a PG to play with LeBron.

Trade your first rounder and package in Sasha, Gooden, or Z.

I don't really care, LeBron is being wasted and something creative needs to happen to make this a legit title contender. He needs someone who can create for him, plain and simple.
