Cavs 06-07 season thread

I heard the third team was Minnesota, I think I heard that on Mike and Mike this morning not positive though. Also, not too sure what Minnesota is looking to move either so we'll see.

I was just coming to post this...

Word is Minny might want some guys with expiring contracts like Newble just to clear space at the end of the season.

Sac could also send Reef there and there is talk that the Kings might get Mike James from Minny...

All hearsay and rumors at the moment, but i really see this one working out...Too much smoke...

Minnesota is looking to move Mike James. Sacramento was looking to use James as Bibby's replacement. I guess that means Snow wouldn't be part of any deal.

I'm not ready to get rid of AV yet. I think he's going to be needed down the road when LBJ bolts, and yes, I'm convinced he will.

Well I think all was well about this post until you said LBJ will bolt...I don't think he does...

If we can do Gooden, DJ, Newble and get Bibby that would be awesome...

That would be one of the best deals ever. If that's what the rumors are...WOW!!! We could get quite a deal.

hughes with another solid performance. 6-18 fg, 0-3 3pt, 2-4 ft.
that includes two point blank misses late in the 4th with the game close.

tell me how he isn't a liability.

I only watched the first quarter and the last minute. I think most of those points came in the first quarter so he must have been cold as hell the rest of the game. I'd rather see Pavlovic than Hughes right now. I would have no problem if the Cavs could somehow trade Hughes.

From SI.COM (FREE SITE)

As potential trades go, the best ones were either dehydrated, prostrate or about to have their plugs pulled. But with less than 24 hours to go, the Cleveland Cavaliers were making a final all-out attempt at reviving their candidate patient.
His name is Mike Bibby, and the Cavs were still hoping to acquire his contract by the NBA trade deadline of 3 p.m. ET Thursday.

Continued.....

Let's hope they can get this done. Bibby would be a HUGE lift to this team. Someone to drive the point and distribute and still be a scorer. This would definitely put them right in the mix as contenders in the East.

Finally got the juicy stuff:

Cavs offered Gooden and Pollard for Bibby, but Pheonix was also involved. Kings would land Marcus Banks as well. Not sure what was in it for Pheonix.

Kings declined the trade saying they wanted more expirings contracts.

I think we will counter with Newble/Wesley...hopefully they accept!

That trade would have left the Cavs short on big bodies. No pun intended. Assuming Z will be back soon they can give up one PF/C before they will be in some trouble.
