Cavs 06-07 season thread

It's pretty clear that Wade is the elite player in the NBA right now, not LeBron. This team is one and done in the playoffs unless something changes. I never expected us to regress this much this season. Very disappointing to say the least.

Well I am usually an optimist...And I could make a silver lining out of this but I am not...I am sick of this shit...

This game goes to show everything that is wrong with this team...First off we can't shoot damn free throws...How hard is it...

Secondly coaching, the first 2 times we tried to send someone at Wade when all they were doing was going 1 on 5 we sent him to the Wade's left as Hughes was overplaying that way and then all Wade did was go to his right...

And last but not least LBJ is not playing anywhere near what he is capable of...He won't attack the hole, settles for too many jumpers and he is not at an elite level b/c he has no idea when he needs to have the ball in his hands and take over. Much like Wade did...

We had this game until we let Wade take over...

O and BTW I can't stand all the stupid ass fuckin' fouls that DWade gets, it is sickening to watch...There was 2 or 3 times when he either jumped into the defender or was untouched...

Also as a side note, I don't think that foul where LBJ almost took off Dwade's head should of been a flagrant foul, b/c when Wade caught the ball he had it up by his head and then LBJ went for the ball but Wade had already dropped it down to his waist, and LBJ knew that he had to foul, but just had a head of steam...Horrible call, but what do expect with the officials and their superstar DWade...

CBF40's post pretty much sums this season up. Everytime they start to show a little promise like against Golden State they follow it up by laying an egg. It's disturbing how much LeBron has regressed this year. Is he too tired, is it mental, is it an underlying injury, is it the "Curse of Cleveland"? Who the fuck knows. Frankly I'm sick of this too. Until they start to show some sort of consistency, I refuse to get optimistic about this team. The shear pathetic state of the Eastern Conference assures them a playoff spot, but I doubt we could win a series. As a Cleveland sports fan, I'm sick of being teased. I really thought after the run last summer that this team would become a legitimate competitor. Now it's back to buisness as usual.

I agree, and I think that quote the other day sums it up that they think that they can just turn it on when the playoffs get here, b/c they know they don't have to play for the playoffs right now, and I mean hell even tho they are playing like shit they are only what 2 games back of the Wizards for the best record in the East.

In all honesty they did piss away a game to the NBA champs from last year and didnt get the calls down the stretch, but those are the types of games that get your confidence level up to get you to that next level...

The thing that is so frustrating to me is LBJ, you just don't see any fire out of him like you did with Jordan, and like you see with Kobe and Wade...

There was MVP talk b4 the season and it was very deserving, but he has completely layed an egg this year and IMO I don't think it is alll b/c of his team, I think a lot of it lays on his shoulders as the team seems to play better with him on the bench...

Hell Gibby looks like he has more fire than LBJ and IMO this has been his team the last couple games...

Gibson is the only good thing to come out of this season so far. I can't wait to see how good he may become.

As for LeBron, I'm having trouble understanding how a 22 year old man can regress so badly in one year. The only thing I can think of is that he's simply over-extending himself. With all the Team USA and commercial garbage, it seems like he is worn out. I agree that he simply has not shown the fire and desire to take over games like he did last year. I haven't seen one game of his that could even stack up to what he was doing fairly regularly last year, especially down the stretch. Instead of willing the team back into the games by going to the hoop like he did so often in the playoffs last year, he's settling for bad shots and bricking free throws. He looks tired to me.

IMO it is all mental...

He has taken 2 games off in the past week, that should help with him getting rested and Brown gave him like a 7 minute rest between the end of the 3rd and when he came in in the 4th and he still didnt take over...

DWade's game is turning the NBA into a joke. All he does in crunch time is drive to the hoop, jump in the air in a way so as to slam into someone, and throw the ball towards the hoop. He gets the whistle every time. I'm sorry, but the rules of basketball do not dictate that a foul must be called anytime Wade goes out of control and throws himself into a defender. The game last night, in which he shot 24 free throws, is just as big a joke as the NBA Finals games were last year. Anyone who likes his style of play or thinks he is a good player is more fit to be a professional wrestling fan.

I agree with everything besides people thinking he is a good player...

He would be a good player without playing like that, but he is getting the calls so why not do it...

how much of our inconsistency can be placed on Mike Brown? I'm really not impressed....it just seems like we don't play to our strengths, and when we do, it lasts for a game at the most, but normally it's only for a few short periods during a game...I just wish he'd let Gibson run with Hughes and LeBron at the wings, get Wild thing up and down the court rounded out by Gooden or Marshall.....their style of play 70% of the time is crappy half-court basketball

yeah, I honestly have a hard time watching the nba. way to much the game boils down to reffing and it just gets to annoying.

also, Lebron is probably going to get suspended for that clothesline:(

Yep. My cry all season...inconsistent, inconsistent, inconsistent.

The way they are playing right now Gibson and Pavlovic are the best 2 players on the team. Pav is the only guy who is taking the ball to the hoop on a regular basis. I would say that Lebron needs to take the ball to the hoop like Wade and Arenas do, but he is big enough that he would probably run people over and get charges.
