Cavs 06-07 season thread

This team is growing up boys...

Detroit is wearing down, you can see it at times on defense when they just don't step over, let guys get open looks etc.

Once again Flip hardly used his bench other than Maxiel and McDyess, but not that much...

I really think the next game is going to be the decider...

We are going to need either Snow, DJ, Newble someone to get us some sort of minutes, much to fill in for Snow, or else we will wear down some...

I do see some improvement, mainly because of Gibson; He is a rookie though and Detroit will be ready for him in the next games.
I don't know about Detroit wearing down. They had their highest point total
In quite a while. Billups found his game.
It would be great for the Cavs to win. One can only hope.

You can just tell how open the court has been with Boobie getting open looks, and Sasha out there as well...Also Drew has been money from 15-18 ft.

What wins series is when coaches make a change in the middle of the series...We made the first change partly due to Hughes getting hurt, but we have seen Gibson get lots of minutes...

I would like to see us come out and push the ball a little more in game 5, maybe Brown is saving it...

As for Detroit wearing down, I was not talking mainly on the offensive end b/c that is mainly due to them having some mismatches and them hitting some tough shots, but Billups and Rip are wearing down on the defensive end, and Sheed struggled some down the stretch and same with Prince...

It is mainly the 4 stars for them, and they are all having some bad nights, but they are making some uncharacteristic plays turnovers and things, b/c I think they are mentally fatigued...Billups had 5 turnovers and 2 assists tonite...

Great win.

I'm only 18 but I think the Cavs third quarter offense has already given me an ulcer.

Daniel Gibson will be our starting PG next season. No doubt about it in my mind. Just talking about next game though, I hope he keeps his confidence in check and doesn't get too out of control. We only need at least ten next game(which I think he should get easily). I wouldn't expect another twenty point outburst in Detroit.

For the life of me, why in the hell would we put in Damon Jones at the end of the second quarter for defensive purposes? That's pretty much the one time you want Eric Snow in.

Sasha, IMO, had a pretty bad first half. He had at least three huge defensive lapses in the first quarter, and he made some questionable decisions offensively that cost us. He needs to pick up his game to make up for Hughes.

Gooden was out of his mind tonight. His defense on Wallace in the fourth was simply amazing. I can't emphasize enough how well he was guarding Wallace.

Z had a good game. I don't recall him doing anything bad throughout the game.

Lebron was simply Lebron. He played well offensively. His defense down the stretch on Billups speaks volumes about how far that aspect of his game has come. He was superb.

Well the Cavs are still a young team and still learning how to win...They don't run offense down the stretch just merely give the ball to LBJ and let him try to create...

The thing is that Detroit is saying that those were the shots that they wanted and will live and die with them...

Gooden actually looked like a good defensive player last night. It indeed was great seeing him giving Rasheed a taste of his own medicine. His shooting was also money last night. Great job.

I'm not going to go all "Willis Reed" on Hughes' attempt to play. He had his typical garbage 1-6 shooting night. Dare I say this game was won because he did not play? Maybe, maybe not.

All I know is that I hope Brown finally realizes that Gibson can be more than a guy to shoot a few three's while getting 8 minutes of pt. His defense was not a liability at all. He had 2 fouls that resulted in and one's but he was just trying to help out when someones man had an easy layup. No fault there, just hit them harder next time.

I think they're turning into a pretty good defensive team. For that, I will give Brown the credit. When you have Billups and Rip shooting well below 50%, you have a great chance to win.

Brown still has no clue what offense is all about, I guess, that's LBJ's call anyway.

They're finally learning to hit the Pistons right in the mouth when they're anywhere near the basket.

Aside from the pathetic third quarter, it was a nice team win.

Saying we're turning into a good defensive team doesn't give Brown and the players enough credit. We're an elite defensive team right now. We're one of the three best defensive teams in the NBA right now. Offensively, we're probably in the lower third of the league, but defensively we're elite, and our defense is how we will beat the Pistons. What we've done to Billups these first four games is just amazing from a defensive standpoint.

Larry Hughes is getting paid more than he's worth, but he earned my respect last night. He played effective defense while hobbling around the court.

For game 5, Gibson will get more minutes, since he's earned them and Hughes's heel will proabably be no better than last night. Detroit will try to post Billups up on Gibson, where he'll be able to score consistently unless he's double-teamed. How the Cavs handle Billups in the post will be a big factor.
