The father's church has been mentioned in the media.

What's curiously NOT being mentioned in the traditional media outlets is the problems that a couple of guys on Auburn's Board of Trustees are having - Boby Lowder having his bank seized by the feds, and Milton McGregor (a casino owner), being indicted for trying to buy political influence in Alabama.

If the FBI (as rumored) has evidence that the bank and casino have been used to funnel money to Auburn players (via ATM cards and gambling payouts), which the FBI then allows the NCAA access to after they no longer need them for their federal cases, then Auburn can be in deep trouble.

Interesting.....is this just info floating around on message boards? or is there some legitimate source? just wondering. oh and what exactly is the story on the father's church (just the quick version)???

The first part - the trustee having his bank seized and the other being indicted are actual news stories from sources like BusinessWeek - they were posted in this thread about 2 weeks ago.

The suspicions that the bank and the casino had been funneling money to Auburn players are rumors from message boards such as TigerDroppings - I'm not sure who the sources are for those. We may have to wait for the FBI to be finished before the facts come out on those - but supposedly the FBI had wiretapped those guys for months, and they didn't spend the whole time talking about business, so many of those recorded conversations could be very useful to the NCAA's ongoing investigation of Auburn.

surprisingly haven't heard many pro-Auburn or pro-Newton callers on local talk radio here in Knoxville....in fact it's been just the opposite. I'm sure if Auburn's in the NCG the "S.E.C" chants will rain out through the entire south though.

so that's what the conf refs call their playbook.

Our refs have no playbooks. They rely on faith based decisions.

Kentuck if what he says is true it makes me think even less of the NCAA which I didn't think was possible. They have to believe what they are told? So if for the sake of argument a guy was competing in a woman's sport and they faced that committee and said even though she looks like a man, talks like a man, and is hairy like a man. She is not a man cause she has no dick. That committee can't say something to the effect pull down your pants and prove it? If that is so that is a committee only a government could love and shouldn't even exist in the first place.
