Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

I've never been to Auburn.....is there anything in that town other than the college? If this whole thing ends up being true and they kill not only the football team, but also take away their accreditation, is that going to kill the economy there? Is that something that "they" (whoever "they" are) would let happen?

I used to live about an hours drive from Auburn. It is a really cool college town. The usual mix of chain and sole proprietor restaurants, shopping, bars etc.

My wife is a professor of English and we liked it enough that she applied and interviewed there before we moved to within two counties of State Penn.

EXCLUSIVE: Cam Netwon's Lawyer Breaks Silence On Money, Cheating

WSBTV sites has story and video of interview with Cam Newton's lawyer:

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/25842951/detail.html
Newton's attorney also addressed the Heisman Trophy hopeful's academic standings at the University of Florida, with strong words for the school."Cam Newton's grades and academic standings at the University of Florida are protected matters. And to the extent that the University of Florida has violated a federal statute, I have some understanding of what the University of Florida's address is and at some appropriate time they'll hear from me," said Lawson.
So................govern ourselves accordingly?

He could have said that the claims of academic misconduct were scurrilous and untrue, and virtually everybody in position to dispute that would be unable to do so due to privacy legislation.

Instead he chose to say that Florida violated privacy laws, thus indicating that his client is guilty of the charges of academic misconduct. I don't think I'd hire that genius to represent me.

And if I'm reading his other quotes accurately, he says that Cam never took any money and that Cam and Cecil are cooperating with the investigation. I don't believe the lawyer has ever said that Cecil didn't take any money, but I'm not a million percent sure of that.

yah he never did and that was the only thing that stupid reporter should of asked the lawyer was "did cecil receive any money?"...instead he babbled on with less hard hitting questions

That seems to be the argument that's solidifying inside Shug Jordan Parkway...that whatever Cecil may have done Cam didn't know anything about it.

Not exactly the most compelling defense.

Right. Of course, the real problem is Cam's knowledge is inconsequential. It may mitigate, but the sins of the father govern in the strictest sense.
