Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

Jax, the story is that two of the cheating violations were his putting his own name on someone else's paper, and then the professor told him to turn in his own paper (what? no automatic fail for the class? what professor was this?) he submitted a paper bought off the internet. UF professors routinely do plagiarism checks on papers anyways and would definitely do so in this case. In other words, it's even stupider than you suppose.

The fantastic stupidity involved probably explains everything, actually. I wouldn't be surprised if "Cameron cheated twice and got caught twice on the same damn paper" circulated for a bit among students who had immediate knowledge of it. It's just too dumb to be contained and makes too good a tale of idiocy. Potentially there may not have even been a third (recorded) incident of cheating - stories that circulate in this manner tend to mutate slightly and the magic number of three incidents found in fairy-tales and urban legends tends to be reached.

Thanks.

BTW, lets say for a moment that he's actually that damn dumb. How did he get into UF in the first place?

:tongue2:

The cheating thing doesn't implicate UF of wrongdoing (his departure is linked to their hardline stance), it's just a black-eye to be associated with another incident.

No. I wasn't implying it did.

I was having a bit of fun with the black eye angle. In all seriousness UF has, much like OSU, really improved its admission standards over the years. Its a hard damn school to get into anymore so I'm a little confused as to how someone this damn dumb (allegedatorily) got in.

I didn't think about that, good point

You're asking this about the same school that accepted Tim Tebow?

When a student submits a paper, and later has the prof come to him and ask him why didn't he submit a paper, and then asks the student to look through the stack of papers to see if it's in there, and then the student spots his own paper with somebody else's name on it (which the student wasn't aware had happened), and the student says "That's my paper" - which is how I heard the story - I wouldn't call that 'outing' Cam. It's apparently how Cam got caught, but it's not as if the kid was trying to squeal on somebody. The kid was just trying to find out what happened to his own paper, at the prof's request, since the alert prof wondered why he didn't have one with that kid's name on it.

I thought that is what I pretty much said. The student outed Cam's allegded cheating, whether it was intentional or not.

Tomato = To-mah-to, Potatohead = DickRod, all the same to me.

Are you indicating the real source for these stories? :tongue2:

Speaking of Tim Tebow, didn't Cam Newton spend at least 15 minutes with Tim Tebow a few years back? Something doesn't add up here...

Sure it does. He went from cheating in school to soliciting donations for a church. Tebow's influence on his transformation cannot be overstated.

"He must be the stupidest son-of-a-bitch alive. But he sure is fast!"
