Hulu's new live TV service, anyone? Currently paying 285 a month to comcast. I bumped my t-mobile service up from 6gb to unlimited, so I can get rid of comcast Internet. The hulu service is 40 and looks promising. I go from 285 month to 55. Other than AMC, the channel lineup covers almost everything I watch.

Been meaning to post here about the new ads for Sling's ala carte offer. Annoyingly, they aren't making links directly to explanations of how it works exactly easy to find. So, not worth any more of my time right now. Anyway--if anyone is in the market, it might be worth the effort to check it out.

I'm up and running with VUE and Roku. So far so good. I don't get WGN like I would with HULU, so I bought an HD antenna and get good 1080 over the air when I want it. Watched baseball last night through VUE on Roku with my phone as a hotspot, and it streamed flawlessly. And, unlike the HuLu service, I get AMC with VUE. Downside, is the DVR capability isn't as good, nor as straightforward.

So, I got rid of a $260 Comcast bill. The change to the unlimited LTE plan on T-Mobile ended up when the dust settled costing me an extra $5/month. Adding HBO to my Amazon Prime is $15/month. VUE is $45/month for a net savings of $195/month or $2340 a year. Upfront hardware costs were $120, which was for two cord cutting special offers (each had a Leaf30 HD antenna and a Roku stick/remote): $60 for each set x 2 televisions. So even with the hardware costs, I'm still saving 2200 over the next 12 months.

Comcast boxes and router are sitting on the floor and getting dropped off today.

I liked Vue a LOT. Used the DVR function frequently during football season. Really like the Favorites function, and being able to flag shows for them to record (I think they hold them for a month.)

I don't need it right now, but they'd definitely be my first choice go-to alternative to exorbitant cable suppliers. Enjoy!

I am leaning towards Vue when I make the jump in about two weeks, mainly because of the DVR capability. I also don't like having to choose between Orange and Blue on Sling (I would have to pay for both). Gonna run Vue on the new Apple TV. Already have Netflix and Hulu and "borrow" Showtime and HBO. Will probably get a decent HD antenna just for the hell of it. Just want to make sure I can watch the Buckeyes, Browns, Cavs and Indians. Looks like the Core Slim for $34.99/month about covers what I need. Went with WOW as my ISP and running a Surfboard modem and Nighthawk wifi router which seems to give me great coverage throughout the new house as well as out in the yard.

Take a look at Hulu-TV. I loved my free trial, but the achilles heel was that it was only available for Chromecast, with Roku and Fire "coming soon." Chromecast hardware is crap. I overheated and burned out two of them in a week. Hulu-TV is available for Apple TV though, which wasn't an option for me because I don't use anything Apple and didn't want to pay the hefty premium over a Roku or Fire setup. DVR is superior on Hulu to VUE I will say. Downside is no AMC if you're into Walking Dead, Saul etc.

First let me say all the cable providers SUCK.

I've been getting the 3 item (cable, internet, and phone bundle), Time Warner keeps raining their rates every year. I call and complain and they give me a "better deal" so I've kept them. This year there was a $20 per month increase to $157 per month and their "better deal" was to switch to Spectrum for a $30 per month increase. I got quotes from WOW, not surprisingly different WOW people gave me different quotes for the same package. The best offer was $123.05 (total including taxes) per month for 100 Mbps internet, medium cable, and phone package (with free installation) for the first year. In year 2 there is a $10 increase. I switched to WOW last Thursday and it was a lot less painless than I thought it would be. Some of Time Warner's features were better than WOW's and some of WOW's features are better than Time Warner's. So far for the price I'm happy with WOW.

I switched to Vue a month back and have been very happy with it so far. Have a few PS systems in the house and bought a Roku express , I pay $80 and get their everything package with HBO and Showtime, about half what I was paying with Directv.

Yesterday's games streamed flawlessly on both my TV via Roku and on my Samsung pad via the Vue app.
I do not have the ABC and NBC affiliate for my local stations in Mansfield with Vue, just get the on demand for ABC/NBC. It has been no issue whatsoever until Thursday night I couldn't watch the NFL game and then last night i had to rely on the ESPN app for the Buckeye game. It was awful. Froze/lagged constantly. I watched it on two different PS4's (1 wifi and 1 ethernet) and 1 AppleTv. My internet is cable and never had an issue before last night, so I am wondering if it was the ESPN app as that was the common denominator.

Also, my issues explain the challenges in the game plan/play calling. Sorry about the loss last night guys.
