After Friday's Elite 11, Waller earned a coveted gold shirt, and with it, a place in the Elite 11 finals. He showed quick feet and a strong pocket presence and connected with nearly all of his wide receivers. He's incredibly athletic, and though he's still filling out his frame, he proved that he can sling the rock like some of the bigger quarterbacks present.

QB Travis Waller is an incredibly impressive prospect. #OhioState could be next to offer.

More than almost anyone in the West, Waller had a strong spring at numerous events. The Servite quarterback looked good at RCS Southern California and then he was arguably the top quarterback at the Pylon Sports 7-on-7 in Las Vegas and other local 7-on-7s. Alabama and Maryland just offered and Waller just took a visit to California, which went well. Ohio State and Oregon could offer next. - Adam Gorney, Rivals.com West Recruiting Analyst

I think I saw somewhere that he was planning on coming out here soon (maybe for FNL?). Interested to see if that's still the case. If it is, and we offer and he does commit, you'd have to think Gibson is gone. Still would be majorly interested as an ATH prospect, but he wants a fair shake at QB, and that just wouldn't happen.

So Ohio State has seemingly moved on?

Possibly looking at adding Torrance Gibson (whose recruitment has seemingly cooled significantly from Ohio State's end- possibly due to off field concerns) or nothing at this point unless someone else emerges during camps over the next several weeks.

I don't think the OSU staff has cooled at all on Gibson, thrust they did on Waller. I don't think Gibson stopped being their top target at QB.

Pure speculation on my part, but I would imagine tOSU and Oregon would be his top two provided he had offers. Both Bama and NW have offered. Wouldn't read too much into it as far as either side cooling on the other.

The fact that Gibson isn't even talking about visiting OSU over the spring/summer anymore after months of doing so tells me that something changed in his recruitment. Given his reported (falsely and otherwise) off field issues, I'd say OSU has backed off a bit.

Waller was scheduled to visit Ohio State on his own dime and many people speculated that if that visit happened he would be a Buckeye.

In the 11th hour before that visit was to take place, Ohio State offered and accepted a commitment from Burrow and now Waller isn't even talking about visiting OSU for the time being.

Until a visit is scheduled for Gibson and/or Waller, both recruitments have clearly cooled. I don't base the things I say on nothing... most of the time.
