CA QB Travis Waller (Oregon Verbal)

The fact that Gibson isn't even talking about visiting OSU over the spring/summer anymore after months of doing so tells me that something changed in his recruitment. Given his reported (falsely and otherwise) off field issues, I'd say OSU has backed off a bit.

Or it could mean he just can't make it up to Ohio during the spring or summer. I doubt the coaches completely stopped going after him. It's recruiting though, it's a roller coaster. And how could he not talk a lot about OSU when Tenn and Auburn fans are literally stalking his twitter and Facebook pages. He still has an official set up to OSU in the fall, which is still big. It also looked like we cooled on Winbush for a while too, only to find out that we had been recruiting him the hardest with PSU, I'm sure behind the scenes there are things fans don't see.

My fault, back to Waller(I'll keep the Gibson talk in Gibson's thread)

Burrow took Waller's spot (IMO and others) and they'll continue to chase Gibson. Even though Torrance hasn't had contact with Coach Herman, he did mention still being in contact with Coach Meyer & Mark Pantoni.....get through camp season & see where things stand.

Agreed. I just don't believe this staff would stop pursuing the #1 Ath/DT QB because of rumors of off the field incidents. Especially since this kid has had us in his top 5 since he was a junior and still does without a visit.

Wish Waller the best in wherever he chooses. Hard to pass up on Burrows though if they were both rated equal to the staff.

'I talk to Tom Herman basically every day': California prospect Travis Waller still on Ohio State's QB board: Buckeyes recruiting

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Since Ohio State earned an oral commitment from three-star quarterback Joe Burrow at the end of May, Urban Meyer has had the luxury of becoming selective with other quarterback targets.

Let's keep it basic. If you're quarterback in the 2015 class and you're no longer on Ohio State's board, you've lost contact.

That's good news for Travis Waller of Anaheim (Calif.) Servite, a three-star prospect whomRivals.com rates as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the class.

"Our relationship is probably one of the best out there right now," Waller told cleveland.com in a phone interview Thursday. "I talk to Coach Tom Herman every day and Urban Meyer once a week, so it's pretty good.

"They told me that they have a quarterback commitment already and explained all of that, but they said there's a good chance that I could probably still go there."

When Ohio State means it, Waller will get an offer. He doesn't have one yet.

That Waller still in the loop, however, implies that he's still on the board. And the regularity of his correspondence with Ohio State proves that he's one of the Buckeyes' top remaining quarterback targets along with Torrance Gibson of Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage.

Waller said he isn't concerned with other quarterbacks, whether they're on Ohio State's roster or coming in as part of the 2015 class. He just wants an offer.

Contd....

It'd be really cool if he chose NU, but you'd have to think ND makes the most sense. Don't really see how he fits in Bama's offense, but then again they can get pretty much anyone to commit it seems regardless of need, so who knows.

They can anyone to commit, but athletic dual threat QBs. Alabama is the kiss of death to DT QBs, stranger things have happened but I could see ND making the most sense out of his finalists
