PHILADELPHIA - While the Sixers are busy accumulating pingpong balls, Greg Oden is enjoying a season of college basketball and college. Has any player been on more magazine covers? Has any player been asked to handle more attention at age 19?

Oden, you see, did not spend last night with his teammates in East Lansing, Mich. Or, to be accurate, he was not registered at the team hotel.
