C Greg Oden (All B1G, All-American, Defensive Player of the Year, Butler Assistant Coach)

Greg's composure this season has been amazing. I cant remember how many times I was cussing at my tv Saturday watching Landry and company rip off Gregs shirt and the constant undercutting taking place. Where I'm from you undercut someone and its your ass! Kudos Greg. Keep focused and fight through it all.

He certainly is a poised young man. I have noticed times when I could tell he disagreed, yet kept himself in check. I am well pleased with his performance and improvement over the season. I hope he gets done with the brace at least one game before the Tournnament so that he has full use. I am especially proud of the way he controls the paint. I think after he gets better at footwork there will be no stopping him.
:oh:

I agree with you TGG. He plays a little too tall at times, yeah I know he's 7 foot, but thats making his base a little narrow and harder for him to move laterally. This wouldn't be a problem but he's doing a lot of switching 15-18 feet from the basket which might be a disadvantage for him especially against smaller players. Still, not too much to fault with his game right now.

It has been reported in some quarters that Greg "kiddingly" asked Matta for a tear away jersey.
1. Does any one think he was kidding?
2. Should Matta give it to him?

I am prone to say he really wasn't kidding.and,
Definitely

Well if he wore a tear away they would kinda HAVE to start calling the fouls .

The Next Great Debate
Durant versus Oden: Who will be the No. 1 pick in this year's NBA draft?
By Ian Thomsen

In any other era there would have been no debate: If a dominant center like Ohio State's Greg Oden were available, he would be the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft. But is that still the case now that pro teams are going smaller and the league's rules are slanted to help perimeter slashers like Kevin Durant at the expense of behemoths like Oden?

...

...others see more than a passing similarity to Duncan, who defied the NBA to play four years for Wake Forest. "This is an odd duck," the Eastern scout says of Oden. "He may decide he wants to stay in college. This isn't your normal guy who will just jump at the money."

Greg, I hope you're a very odd duck!

A tear away jersey would be great...so much for holding him.
