Nice to see a big actually play with some fire for a change. This is a big Buckeye team, and Giddens plays bigger than anyone else. We won't be killed on the boards by anyone this season.
I agree with everything that you have said about Giddens and I loved his enthusiasm but he has got to work out his free-throw shooting or that is going to become a big liability. With regards to putting in another 'big' at PF that is an excellent idea but we did not have anyone who would fit that mold. Maybe Tate but that is about it.Thanks Max. Those are the words I was looking for. He calls for the ball with his spine perpendicular to the floor, not bent forward at a 45 degree angle. Playing Big sums it up very well. He also goes toward the basket, looking for the offensive rebound. He doesn't have the Sam Thompson timing (yet), but give him a couple more years. I'll take enthusiasm any day. I agree, there is fire and desire there. Now, put one of the other 'bigs' out there as PF and start banging down low. Higher percentage shots down low gotta mean more points than 33% 3-ball shooting. And hopefully more W's as well. Go Bucks.
from what I saw tonight against Memphis, Bates-Diop OR Tate would fit the bill. My vote would be for Diop.....can anyone riddle me why tOSU recruits only 50-60% free throw shooters? It seems like they clank more than they swish on FTs. For Christmas, could someone give me an tOSU team that hits at an 80% clip consistently? Go Bucks! By the way, with 7 FR or RFR, I think the Buckeyes are doing pretty well. Youth must be served, and from what I see, these guys will be pretty stout by the time they are juniors (if they all stay).
