C Byron 'B.J.' Mullens (Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo - Japan)

I think that last sentence has been fairly well-accepted as fact around here for awhile. While not coming out and stating it quite as surely, all of the insiders have said he's gone after this year pretty much regardless of how it plays out.
I guess I don't understand the "family's financial situation" remark. He did go to a private school for his freshman year in high school and then his family moved to Canal Winchester. Maybe we could take up a collection and keep him here for a few more years:biggrin:

You obviously don't know anything about his 'family situation' or you wouldn't feel the need to make any comments at all.

I think BJ has made a breakthrough over the last few games, he looks much more comfortable and aware out on the court. He has scored in double figures in the last 4 games.

I do believe he's made a breakthrough of sorts. He now realizes that he has to do more than just turn around and shoot over the opponent in order to score & he's getting more aggressive, which is nice. Hopefully he keeps improving and starts grabbing a few more rebounds.

You notice tho that he is getting some easy baskets as his teammates are finally realizing they have a 7 footer they can just put the ball up to...How many of his baskets against Michigan were of the alley oop variety...At least 4...Simmons has done a good job lately of getting into the lane and finding Mullens...This is what made Conley and Oden so special together...

Just about all of his were dunks, I only remember one that wasn't. But hey if he can score 50 with dunks , thats fine by me .:wink2:

Yeah, but what I was getting at were the easy ones...Where he finds an open spot and then takes an alley oop pass, which is and easy bucket, as all we have to do is throw it over the defense...

He really needs to start getting more minutes and not sharing minutes with Dallas because Mullens brings so much more to the table offensively than does Dallas. I will admit that sometimes he has a tendency to slack on defense but on Saturday he seemed to bring more intensity to that end also.

I agree. Although Dallas has been a very pleasant surprise this year, it seems that the light has finally clicked on for BJ.

That quick turn, power dribble, and one hand stuff off the pass from Diebler was unbelievable.

Watching the Lakers and Andrew Bynum, I think that is who Mullens should model his game after...He doesn't have the long arms quite like Bynum, but the way that Bynum keeps the ball high, his nice little hook shot, are things that would make Mullens a tear to defend...
