Butler +3.5 vs UConn (ov/un 129.5) Mon 9 ET, CBS

one thing about this game does please me, though:

any talk will not be about how calhoun's team was deserving a national title. instead, the talk will be about how horrible the contest was and how 30+ teams could have beaten butler.

Well, I think having 68(!) teams in the tournament is stupid. In football I think an 8 team playoff would be the max. Of course you would have ~95% of fans complaining that their team was left out but that's an issue for another day. Butler took care of business up to this point in the tournament and I thought they were going to win tonight. Boy was I wrong.

Bah, just wait till the bitching start then they ruin this tourny even more by taking it up to 96 teams...its all about the $$$$

It's the truth. Any team that made it out of the West and East region alive would of destroyed Butler tonight.

I don't know anyone who is suggesting a 9th place team belongs in a football playoff. A field that large would play into March, too.

But I'll never buy into the notion that we can "know" who the two best teams are by casting ballots, either.

I should have known better. I don't want to turn this into a football playoff debate - we have another thread for that.

I do want to say though - with the push to expand the basketball tournament and the exponential expansion of bowl games, an 8-team football playoff would be just the start. No matter what the size of the field, somebody will argue the teams that fall just outside of it deserve a shot. Somebody will be there to profit from expanding it from 8 to 12 to 16 to 32, and beyond and we'll all watch it anyway.

I'm pumped for the ladies championship tomorrow!! Actually I'm not. I should've watched rob dyrdek's fantasy factory tonight haha this game was bad. Butler isn't a bad team either, but man, this has to be the worst shooting performance in a championship game.

UConn scored 109 points in two final four games, but won both of them. In the end, that's all that matters.

Butler experienced our night vs. uk times ten. That was just putrid.

3 of 31 two point shots. Some of that was the other guys were bigger, the rest was just a nightmare they'll relive in their minds for awhile.

I think I might've been able to make 3 of 31.
