I agree with you to a point. 22-19 at the half is just shameful though. I think the low score has more to do with terrible shooting than heavy defense.

I think it's a combination of both, but championship games succumbing to pressure is nothing new. We've seen it in other sports too, including the NFL.

Look at the BCS title game this year. Two of the highest scoring teams in the nation struggled to score. They pretty much looked like shit most of the night.

The final? 22-19.

Ohio State was the top seed and lost. That's fine, let's just be honest about it.
All this is true, and March Madness is wonderful, and all that happy shit, but this game blows chunks. If anyone's idea of "how basketball was meant to be played" is defined by utterly inept offensive execution, they'll be orgasmic about this contest.

I agree, but it's not the first championship game dud and it won't be the last. It isn't unique to college basketball, either.

I disagree. I love it. Heavy defense, contested shots, tough transitions....

Doesn't bother me, either. I'm more interested in a competitive battle for 40 minutes tonight and it looks like we'll have one.

I thought Lamb would be a factor tonight, but he was invisible in the first half. Definitely not in the second. He's a match up problem with his size at guard. Who is going to guard him, Sigall?

This is going to be weird to say, but I'm only watching this game because my wife is making me. I was happily watching MLB Network when she came home and asked why I wasn't watching the game.

This is the coup de grace in the worst tournament I've ever seen. I stopped watching when Ohio State bowed out. I watched all kinds of games leading up to this tournament that I had no other reason to be interested in other the potential for something exciting to happen. Now that the stakes are the highest, I'm just not interested. The field was assembled and developed in such a way that make a mockery of the idea of calling this a "national championship". The level of play overall has been low, and most of the teams that teams that stood a chance of elevating it were put in the same damn region.

Gene Smith, like Lucy Ricardo, has some 'splainin' to do. What an execrable job by the Committee this year.
